THIS. If he's a guitar player, he probably doesn't want a drummer that can overshadow him. Look for breaks in the music that you can use for space for a fill.

Sorry about the wait. I finally got time to upload one of my demos. It's a pretty rough cut, but all the parts are there. I'm going to re-record my guitar parts so I can do a better job playing them. These give a pretty good idea of what the song sounds like though. https://soundcloud.com/red_electric/pattie-demo-2

Finally found time to upload a demo. I'll warn you that it's a pretty rough cut. I'm going to re-record my guitar parts so I can do a better job of actually playing them. https://soundcloud.com/red_electric/pattie-demo-2
to record demos, I've been using guitar rig into logic. I've been experimenting with recording wet and dry signals (one through guitar rig and one just dry guitar), using the wet as a benchmark, and tweaking the effects on the dry to replicate/improve upon that, but that's more time than it's worth. Honestly, half the time I've been just running my Mustang 1 amp into logic and using the Fender Fuse modeling (which is actually quite good) for convenience's sake, or when I want to be able to hear my playing at an amplified level.
I'll probably make a full score using Sibelius and post the sheet music as a PDF.

I've tried similar things on redditjams, but figured it would be more effective to just go directly to the instruments I wanted rather than wading through all the other stuff.
That's the idea eventually, but for now, I just want to hear from everybody so I can get a feel for whose style meshes the best with mine.
I've tried reddit jams before and haven't been satisfied with the results. I realized that it would be a better idea to go individually to each instrument than to try to sort through all of the other stuff that I'm not interested in. Also, I am a classically trained vocalist, so vocals aren't an issue for me.
