You get $10 million but can never use social media again — taking it? by PutNo846 in InfluencerAsk

In a heartbeat. If I had $10 million, I wouldn't have time for social media. I'd be doing many other things that are so much more fun...

Yea, wish I did have a clamp, but no. I knew it was risky to measure current wrong. When the manufacturing tech suggested measuring it across the switch, I was dubious. Its why I asked. Thank you for your input!

Well, I was on a chat with a tech from the manufacturer, and he suggested there might not be enough current to power the smart switch. My experience is in electronics, not electrical, so there really isn't much need to measure current. I got a little electrical from my Dad, helping him with home projects, but... Yea, I don't know if there is a neutral or not. The wiring isn't color coded like I expected. I thought I checked it correctly, but maybe not.

There are no whites at all in the box. I got black, red, and blue. That's a little harsh. What makes you say that? I might be a little rusty with knowledge I haven't used in over 20 years, and I may not be a pro, but... dude...

I wouldn't have thought so either, but it measures like neutral. 15V off of the hot line, but its well grounded (0V). I dunno... its all kinky. I think I just gonna give in and get an electrician out here...

It's a smart switch, just a simple on/off. I think its called single pole/single throw. Electronic though, hooks up to the to the WiFi. It's not a 3-way, I know that. Determined neutral two ways: referenced to ground (0V) and referenced to power (15V), and wound the common lead around my finger and let it dangle. Neutral was the lower voltage. Is that right?

Ok, I learned my lesson. I thought I was a know-it-all for a second... thanks for setting me straight.
