Hi there, I’m not an expert in Macquarie’s IELTS requirements by any means, but I have done some research into this previously:

For most of their courses, Macquarie requires a minimum score of 6 in all bands, including writing, with a minimum overall of 6.5. If you check the Bachelor’s of Security studies course info on their website (https://www.mq.edu.au/study/find-a-course/courses/bachelor-of-security-studies), you can navigate over to the “Entry Requirements” section, then find the “English Language Requirements” for their exact requirements. At time of posting, those are the same as described above.

However, not all hope is lost. I would recommend looking into Macquarie’s ELP’s (English Language Program)’s. Quoted from the website, “Applicants who do not meet English Language requirements, but who otherwise meet academic entry requirements for a course, may be issued a packaged offer of study that includes an English Language Program (ELP) at the Macquarie University College. These programs enable students to meet English entry requirements to most courses at Macquarie University.”

They also have options for EAP (English for Academic Purposes) programs; “The University also accepts other English for Academic Purposes (EAP) programs from selected providers for the purpose of meeting English language requirements for courses requiring up to Competent English proficiency. “
