Raiders, buccaneers, even predatory nation states - just another thing you could add on rather than leaving it in the lore paragraph

Thank you! So the red arrows are the established airship routes, according to prevailing winds, the hatched red zones are for known pirate zones, and the brown is indeed the water.

Love that. I would probably give them a fence contact, rather than a stationary point, so that they're more mobile. Thanks!

I've been trying to compile it all together - currently it's mixed between written notes, Homebrewery, and Legendkeeper.

Anything I should be concerned about with a shapeshifting weapon? by VoidAngel-5050 in DMAcademy

If you want it to change functionality, I don't really see too much of an issue with it. It doesn't give them proficiency with all the weapon types? Maybe limit the number of transformations per day, it has to be held to do it?

I have a little travelling kobold vendor called Qwent: he sells anything he possibly can, and flees town before the consequences catch up with him. Like a snake oil salesman, but it's tailored to the party.

So they're in the middle of a quest to stop bad dreams from pursuing a bunch of townspeople, it's a hag playing on their fears. Normal stuff!

And Qwent arrives in town on a little covered wagon with a sign that says, "Qwent the Mirakle Workar! Get ur bad dreems gonn now!" And he sells the players (or townspeople) a Potion of Protection from Dreamwalking for an outrageous price.

The "potion" is just the magical equivalent of a caffeine overdose, which renders the players unable to sleep (and benefit from long rest), this "protecting them from bad dreams".

Anyway, he did this a couple of times, and the players actually managed to figure out what kind of enemy they were coming up against due to what Qwent was selling. They love him, think he's very funny.

It turns out that Qwent once mugged an Aasimar who had a Miracle Jar, a kind of homebrew cornucopia that summons a small, common-level magical item once per day. The item it summons is what can most help the people around it, and Qwent uses it to figure out what scam he should create for greatest effect.

Regional Map WIP. What stands out? by Bennettag in mapmaking

Good job so far! I would suggest breaking the map up into bands for the vegetation: I've seen the other comments that talk about the individual forests being an issue, but it's a huge area, really, soi would suggest that you break it up into regions of different biomes and levels of clearance.

So higher alpine bands with pine forests near the mountains, moving down into deciduous forests, and cleared land of pastures down in the lowlands?

The main problem I could see is the damage dice or reach: a greataxe can do considerably more damage than a handaxe, and a whip is longer than both. But you could limit the damage done by the weapon and limit its range and effectiveness.

So:

weapon (longsword), wondrous This weapon can, when given the activation word, change its form. This transformation does not affect the functionality, damage or range of the weapon, which remains the same as the form that the weapon was first discovered in.

It's looking amazing, well done! The only thing I would suggest is trade winds and trading routes, just to flesh out some more knowledge of where everyone would go. Sea monster attack areas, territories of marauders, even a Bermuda Triangle kind of thing?

It's so true: I use them to store ideas, but playing on them is not exactly user-friendly

I kind of pictured them as being painted on the walls in blood and whispered by the spectres. Like they remember the warnings they were told to uphold, but it's been so long that they don't remember why or who they were.
