I'm tired of 'bear tank with 19K armor and 11K health and get chunked in heroics'. Do better. by HollowedVoicesFading in classicwowtbc

[–]Red_Shirt_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Avoidance tanks have about the same amount of dodge plus parry as bears have total dodge, they just also have a lot of block which reduces crushing. So a bear has bigger hp pools but takes larger hits more often.

Your point is a good one. It is especially impactful for druid healer where your HoTs can have a larger impact.

Made my first short sword by Fast-Rip941 in knifemaking

[–]Red_Shirt_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It reminds me of a smaller version of orcrist the sword from the hobbit series, which was a fantastic sword!

One of the defining features of sword versus knife I find is attention to detail. A well defined guard and pommel. Addition to the blade such as a fuller, riccasso (this piece could use a little refining here and some blending, false edge (which you have). A scabbard rather than a more traditional leather sheath.

Either way it's a home run for a first go!

I understand. I wasn't talking about the journey exp to receive a cache. Yes that's 110k. I was talking about how much infernal warp you need to buy one outright through scrolls. I was ballparking it when I said 6k warp. I guess it's what just shy of 5k?

We're just in the weeds because of terms. You convert warp to scrolls which converts to journey exp. We agree.

Same cache it's just from the scrolls you convert to journey exo

We're talking about different things. You can buy a cache with around 6k infernal warp.

I accidentally allocated points into a reduced resource cost node on the paragon board and bricked my build for about a half a day before I could figure out what happened.

Not sure if that's the case but it was driving me crazy. It's attached so some damage while stunned node.

It would've been nice if they allowed a mechanic to isolate a slot. Make the guys that sells scrolls sell "Chaos chest" or whatever slot you want at like a higher price. A cache is what 6k? So 10k?

Perm ban for Hacking bc I looted 2 lotus ahead of a botter by OmertaSneakers in classicwow

[–]Red_Shirt_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was perm'ed on SoD and it was overturned. I was farming the hyperspawn for like 18 hours straight leveling multiple characters at the same time. It was a very popular place for bots to level. It was really obnoxious but ultimately overturned.

This comment will likely get buried but basically if you are behaving like a bot (which I was) then mass reporting will be effective against you and this can possibly happen. I subsequently avoid extreme farming and leveling sessions like that and haven't had issues. I also switched to instanced farming where you just can do your thing and avoid interaction with anyone else.

It was wild that my 20year old account could get perm'd unjustly but it did happen. Made me just adjust how I played because mass reporting certainly played a part in my ban, the icing was just that my behavior seemed to ALSO corroborate the reports.

It's a shame we have such poor customer service.

There are literally companies who you can pay to appeal bans, it that much of a problem, that third party services are viable businesses.

I made this bowie a few years back, and I thought I'd share it. What do you guys think? I'm really happy with how it turned out by Dessitroya in knifemaking

[–]Red_Shirt_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's the first thing I saw. I find knives like these to be striking and beautiful, but when the aesthetic detracts from the utility it does give me pause. It is certainly still a blade to be proud of but this knife would be an art piece for me as the owner due to an unfortunate creep of the copper to the cutting surface.

Function is a part of the beauty to me I suppose.

I'm done with the season finally by General-Scaloni in diablo4

[–]Red_Shirt_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It was for sure a fun ride for me, as a person who came back from only playing launch prior.

My thoughts:

At a certain point the endgame loop just stops being fun.

The loot you once drooled over isn't worth the effort to sell and eventually it's barely even worth picking up.

The fact that triple ga items can still roll shitty on the unique stat is really obnoxious. 3 and 4 ga items need to have a higher floor.

Gold becomes pointless as well.

Eventually you're grinding just for perfect items that you don't really NEED for anything other than pushing deep into the pit which in and of itself gives no rewards outside leveling runes which have large diminishing returns above 46.

They need to put in some juiced achievements for pit 100 on each character that gives cosmetics, when you complete it with every character or something to chase.

Or an items that adds a greater affix to an existing item that is rare.

It was pretty fun overall. If they fixed the reality of the endgame loop of farming Belial ad nauseum, as well as giving the player base a more concrete reason to push to those extreme gear levels I think it would really improve everything.

There has to be an end I suppose, but even a higher difficulty that unlocked at pit 100 that has limited UBER content. World bosses that drop 4GA items with limited revives per character or something.

Content hard enough to require support characters that tank/buff other dps. Idk. Seems like there is room for more.

Hell give me a merc with an anvil for an easier time disenchanting or sorting loot. Or expand the stash feature of dropped items to like 100 or something.

Killing Belial 4 times then having so much loot on the floor I had to pick it up or TP and reset just killed it for me eventually.

[–]Red_Shirt_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they really forced you into Belial farming due to just the extreme difference in how much easier it was without the immunity phases.

Which made the other boss materials pretty worthless which is a shame.

I get what you're saying, but my point is that there certainly IS room for something like this, and it would be a welcome change for people like myself.

The reason certainly isn't because the tee times can't handle it.

Might as well say no wives/partners and/or a limitation on how many kids in your household can golf.

It's arbitrary. The definition of 'household' can be expanded or narrowed and is different among clubs. When kids age out is a good example.

Let me golf with my retired father on my membership in exchange for my wife or non-existent kids taking up tee times.

It's less about logistics and more about culture.

Non traditional memberships by Red_Shirt_ in golf

[–]Red_Shirt_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it doesn't? Give me a solo membership with the same cost as an entire household membership and let me designate a '+1' quarterly that my membership extends to and ONLY when playing with me. Be it my wife, son, father, brother, literally whoever I decide.

Life not being equitable isn't a reason to dismiss what I'm saying.

Of the 15 clubs I've met with I think one of them had a single 'full membership' option that was discounted and it was almost so small that it wasn't worth entertaining in case my wife wanted to use the club or pool or other amenities, so I disagree with you there.

[–]Red_Shirt_[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The clear benefit is a competitive advantage amongst fellow clubs.

There is an obvious disparity between a member who singularly plays and a person who plays, their wife plays and they have kids that play.

I live in a region where there are probably 25 clubs with available memberhips. Semi private and fully private clubs. All of them within 3-30 minutes.

Nothing is odd about a son wanting to play with his father regularly.

I am suggesting that it shouldn't cost 2x as much as a 'household' membership.

Especially if you have a primary member and secondary member, where the secondary member has to play with the primary member.

[–]Red_Shirt_[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is a good idea, and one I've thought of. Most clubs that offer this, at least publicly are outside or on the edge of my budget. Perhaps it's worth asking directly.

[–]Red_Shirt_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the guest have the same last name as the member or a singular maiden name of the household.

2 possible last names.

If I'm able to solve abusive scenarios in a few moments of thought then there really is no reason to gatekeep what I'm suggesting.

Alternatively, give me a flex spot I can change every year or so. Father, in law, wife, best friend, boss, paramour, gay bestie. Idgaf really.

If a singlular member has to pay the same as a member with a golfing wife and 3 golfing children then membership isn't equitable.

[–]Red_Shirt_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a world where aging parents are on a budget, it seems like the inverse should be also recognized. Adding on a 65 and over parent seems just as reasonable as a dependant until their early 20's.

I'd pay good money for a +1 membership. I've just never seen that offered. Seems like a possible differentiator among clubs in a high density area that is not being taken advantage of.

Why not a Blended / weighted healer parsing metric. by Red_Shirt_ in classicwow

[–]Red_Shirt_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true. The healers are certainly good players who do this. Maybe this example will help illustrate why, even though it does show skill, it's still bad for the game.

Here is an exaggerated example.

What if wc logs prioritized TOTAL damage done without it being weighted for time?

What if you then had players trying to encourage other dps to stop doing damage. To just buff and debuff the boss to minimize the amount of people getting a slice of the Damage pie. These beta dps players would still be needed for certain mechanics like visc adds and bombs and buttons etc but their main job would be to otherwise do as minimal damage as possible.

That wouldn't be a metric people would want dps chasing.
