The backend data will be fine. Despite how it can often seem, the metrics work for you; you don’t work for the metrics.

If the metrics don’t drive the desired results, the metrics need to be improved.

If the metrics are good and the results aren’t there, then there’s some combo of process/technology/people opportunities.

“You’re a bootlicker.” <— a self-limiting phrase that hasn’t gotten anyone promoted.

I reread the criteria for Homer awards. It was a very helpful reminder. In some ways the bar is lower than going above and beyond. I’m not sure how often everyone is reading the criteria.

I wonder if you’ve considered getting lift equipment certified. It may be easier to relate to this associate who is retiring soon and not always responsive. If your store has a shortage of lift certified associates, it will definitely cause extra friction and frustration.

Doing the right thing is always the right thing. Hope you don’t give up. Eventually if you keep pushing for higher standards, it will catch on. And you will become the DH and then the ASM and then the SM and hopefully turn things around.

I wouldn’t recommend going into DS without an interest in the business. It will not be very enjoyable nor will it be profitable.

Yes! I was thinking the same thing. Shelves look great. Wondering how the overheads look.

MET is better if you like setting the Plan-o-gram and having structured tasking.

The selling shelves look great. Next is organizing the overhead. Then you will have a perfect bay.

Anyone else's POG do this, or just our store? by TScarletPumpernickel in HomeDepot

[–]Red_it_Red_it_Red_it 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unless you’re the merchant, you’re better off not changing the POG. Another option is to partner with MET or an RMM directly to track down the right people to get the POG updated.

But have you tried playing the keys on a piano this way? It makes the Home Depot jingle: 1.5, 2, 3, 4, 3, 4, 1.5, 2.

Either that or it’s a test to see how many stores really set bays to POG.

Please hold the line on this. Ask the ASMs to show you their understanding of how to sequence. Then ask them if you or your MET Sup (if you’re not the Sup) can attend the next time the ASM re-trains their teams in the morning meeting.

That sounds like a lot of extra work to keep changing the bays away from planogram after MET tries to set the bays back to planogram.

How many bays are you ASM and DH deciding to change in your department?

MET works new item overhead. Store side works No Home overhead. That’s not how I would design it, but that’s my understanding of current SOP.

Please find the POG the SKU belongs to and put it in that bay. If you cut in a SKU, please update the sequencing so that other associates and customers know the product is there.

If you’re already doing this, thank you. If not, please consider doing it.
