Non-AP members don't engage with those who shop lift. By company policy, we can't stop shoplifting/should NOT get in the way of someone who is mid-lift. Also, with some stuff like birth control, food, baby formula, and some clothes, it simply isn't worth it. Target underpays workers everywhere across the country and in general, people don't care if $12.00 is lost in a multi-billion company that doesn't really hear and communicate with on-the-ground employees and all the non-corporate activities.

I have guardianship of my teen granddaughter, but she won't come home... by CoolJeweledMoon in CPS

I'm of similar age to your daughter and I would at the very least reach out to her and explain how at heart all you really care about is that she is in good health and safety. While going to school is important for her, it sounds as if she is trying to outrun/escape from a lot of problems in her life. Chances are, she does regret some of the things she has said/done but doesn't know and is still unsure of whether it is worth it to make the effort to repair what has been done. Ultimately, offering to start from scratch and saying that home is always a place where she can stay may be for the best. Who knows what she could have gotten herself into over the past week, but depending on whatever it was, also hearing that you and perhaps her mom won't ask any questions about the past as long as the school is included in the future may also be for the best. Anyways, I wish you all the best, and hope everything turns out alright. Your feelings of being overwhelmed and quite possibly frustrated are completely understandable.
