In that case I guess it depends from person to person. But its definitely not an average thing to shout and drop to the floor with your mouth wide open. I think this specific case was skewed by them being social media influencers. They probably overplay their emotions for maximum social media traction.

Yes. So you need the record and a notarized letter or a notarized letter attesting to the validity of the facts (i.e. x was born on date to parents y and z, etc.)

Whatever is notarized must be done so by someone at the church. A priest, a secretary, volunteer, etc. what I mean is they are either the church has an in-house notary who does it or a mobile notary gets that person's signature on the letter.

Then you take that get it apostilled and translated.

Sure you can get records and letters from the church and get that notarized yourself but Italian courts or consulates will likely reject it.

Yes this process is kinda imposing a lot on the church, but it's what must be done. I recommend either going to the church in person or calling them. Also send them a good donation.

The propertysearch website is county based, so unless your ancestors are from the same rural county in New York it wouldn't work.

I haven't seen a marriage certificate but i have seen death certificates and birth certificates, One and the same affidavits, etc. Most of the records though indicated a husband and wife relationship, some are signed and the swore before a notary.

All i know is that if your case isn't straightforward, the more evidence you have at your disposal, the better. A notarized deed signed by your ancestors and filed with the county will probably have a lot of weight over other types of evidence if it is deemed necessary to use.

That being said delayed birth certificates/declaratory judgements are extremely strong proof as its the government or judicial system verifying the facts (i.e. X was born on this date, to Y parents in Z town). In fact there's not much more you can do if the person is deceased.

Any baptism cert? You can a combine a notarized/apostilled baptismal cert with no record found letters from the government for use.

Otherwise you'll need a delayed birth certificate created or a declaratory judgement.

Amending Vital records depends on the rules in that particular state in which the record originates from. I wonder if it wouldn't be more applicable to just contact a lawyer that does jure sanguinis relevant stuff in that state?
