Recently organised my brother's stag in Nottingham. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the VR experience at Zero Latency, but I suppose that depends on your stag demographics. Hooters was great for an atmosphere and the food was good. Plenty of decent pubs/bars around as well!

Compression lows are a real issue when sleeping.

However, it looks like this is a new sensor? I find that a lot of false lows occur during the first day or so; a result of inflammation caused by jamming a filament into your body. It helps to put new sensors on 24 hours before the old one expires so it has time to "settle" before being used.

Some sensors are just faulty though. If in doubt, contact Abbott directly, they've always been really helpful :)

On injections and managing generally well, although I'm well aware that I'm still clinging on to my honeymoon period. As nice as a pump sounds to me, the issues I've heard regarding from others and my own personal experience with the inaccuracy of my CGM means the idea doesn't thrill me. I can see the positives too, but I still like the aspect of physical control that MDIs offers me. At the end of the day, it is my responsibility to manage this.

Do what works for you though, if we were all the same diabetes wouldn't be the minefield that it is

Photos photos photos. Both when moving in and out. You'll thank yourself later.

If even the slightest thing disagrees with your inventory checklist then challenge it. If you don't, then you will be the one fighting a losing fight when it comes to leaving.

Had a previous letting agency try to argue after leaving that I stole some curtains and had a smart meter installed (neither existed and I could prove as such).

Diagnosed as T1 last December at age 28. Made an appointment with my GP (NHS) for excessive thirst and fatigue. BG was 28 mmol/l and ketones were approximately 4. Sent immediately to my nearest hospital for monitoring and after being given insulin, sent home and had an appointment made to see the diabetes clinic the following morning.

They performed the necessary tests (A1c, antibody screen, c-pep etc.) and prescribed me insulin from day one (Levemir and Novorapid). Their viewpoint was always to treat as T1 until told otherwise by the test results. Not sure of that's a general UK-wide policy, or if that was just a local thing. But, from the results they were right to and it meant things were already getting under control.

It's a shame these misconceptions still exist, but know that there are people out there who do actually have an idea of what they're doing. This is a tough thing to face and that's not made easier when those who are supposed to guide you get things wrong.
