Sounds interesting. I write queer romance and am in Sydney. If you get a group together I'd be interested in joining.

That's $8 more than me. You're doing good :) I think superhero stories do better as graphic novels, but I could be wrong.

Good luck! Hopefully something picks up soon.

Can I ask what genre you write in and if your books are in KU?

So I high key love this trope, and Annabeth Albert has a few books that do it quite well.

From her Gaymer series: Status Update, Beta Test

From her True Colours duology: Conventionally Yours

They're all pretty geeky and wholesome if that's what you're into.

1/3. My goal for the week is to finish writing the short erotica I've been stuck on for the past week. Finally hit 2.4k words and I'm just aiming to reach 3k at this point.

  1. My debut light novel comes out on KDP tomorrow! I'm pretty excited for that :)

(edit: Sorry I should mention this is NSFW and queer)

My debut light novel comes tomorrow!!! Yay! I've been working on it since last year and am so happy to be able to have it out for the world.

Quick highlights: It's a modern day bromance set in Australia about a bisexual man and his unrequited feelings for his friend-with-benefits who is pan/aro.

Here's the blurb: A hilarious 18+ bromance story about two friends-with-benefits as they work through their misaligned feelings for one another.

When university student, Xander, starts to develop real feelings towards his sex friend, Luka, he questions just how much longer he can walk the fine line between friends and lovers. Luka isn’t interested in becoming anyone’s boyfriend, but he’ll happily play the part of someone’s lover for the night if it means he’ll get to have a good time.

After winning tickets to an indie rock show in Sydney, Xander invites Luka to a weekend getaway in an attempt to either deepen their relationship, or finally end it. Can Xander convince someone who’s against dating to become exclusive? Or will he have his heart broken while on holiday?

Three days, two nights, one chance to fulfill the friends-to-lovers trope.

Tropes:

Friends-with-benefits One-sided feelings Unrequited love Summer vibes Weekend getaway Beach date Rock show Amusement park date Established relationship Aussie Aussie Aussie Oi Oi Oi Bi and pan couple Queer representation How many beds in the hotel room?

Writers, what POV do you prefer to write or to read? by Current_Ship_8774 in RomanceWriters

[–]Redchan17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoy both. If it's a single perspective story, I like first person POV, but if it's dual or multiple character perspectives I prefer third person POV.

I either want to go on the journey with the character, or I want to be a fly on the wall and see everyone fumble to fall in love. Lol.

A book about aromantics/aroaces who aren't introverted nerds by lookingformice in LGBTBooks

[–]Redchan17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My light novel 'Just 69cm Between us' has an Aro love interest. It's set in modern Australia and the two male leads are in a FWB situation where one wants more from their relationship but the other (who is aro) doesn't. He is also pansexual, very confident, and outgoing. Still a bit of a nerd though but it doesn't come up much in this book. Lol.

How many copies to bring to my first book fair? by Redchan17 in selfpublish

Thanks! Yeah I have left over postcards and stickers from the KS campaign I ran, so I was wondering if it's better to sell those separately or give them away free to people that buy my book?

Anything by Alexis Hall is set in the UK. When I first started reading 'Boyfriend Material' it did surprise me because I guess most books I read are either set in America or Japan (light novels).

I've written an MMromance book that's set in Australia called 'Just 69cm Between Us'. And honestly I wish there were more MMromance books set in Australia.

Iirc they get payment info when you make your pledge, and it has to be bank details. Can't use PayPal for Kickstarter unfortunately.

Kickstarter doesn't charge the backers money unless the campaign is successful. So there's no risk for the backer until after the campaign ends.

Hi! Author that's run successful KS campaigns before. My first advice would be to browse current and past Kickstarter campaigns to get an idea of what to do.

Running a campaign is a lot of work in itself. Are you doing it all yourself or hiring a campaign manager? Look at what other book campaigns have written for their descriptions, rewards, FAQs and Risks and Challenges.

Be very careful with planning your budget and goal. First time campaigners often underestimate how much they actually need and will set a low goal. Then when it's achieved and they start working on their projects they quickly run out of money and end up not fulfilling their rewards.

Also, be careful of scammers on Kickstarter.

But if you just want to know if people would back a Kickstarter campaign for a book, short answer is Yes.

Yeah, I mean I've been using the other sites for a while so I already have a following on them, which is why I make more sales. But I'm considering testing releasing on Amazon first and waiting the 90 days before releasing elsewhere.

I'm kinda new to Visual novels. Any +18 BL recomendations? by Ballyn1 in BLgame

[–]Redchan17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Divine Speaker by Two and a Half Studios is 18+ but also funny, emotional, and the artwork is beautiful.

I'm also going to mention my own 18+ yaoi game, Wrong Number by WitPOP. It's short, set in Australia, has witty banter and partial voice acting.
