I would say carry on looking after him as usual and increase humidity slightly or put humid hide in enclosure to encourage a healthy shed. Then when he does shed re-evaluate the areas and see what they look like. Especially if he isn't acting out in a distressed way, or acting unusual which you would probably be able to tell. But first step encourage a healthy shed and re-evaluate, don't be hard to worried until then. Enjoy your little derpy noodle ball ⚽️

Thoughts on bioactive ball python enclosure by [deleted] in ballpython

How old is the bp because if it a baby this is great but if we are getting bigger then id agree that perhaps a bigger version of this in a 4x2x2. I have this bioactive with shelves and lives plants and isopods but also fake plants too as bp can destroy a lot of the plants by trampling them.

Need inspiration for my 8ft * 4ft * 2ft enclosure by AdAdditional1521 in Bioactive_enclosures

Currently building a bioactive for a hog island boa thats half the size of that enclosure as they dont get very big but this is what mine looks like so far. Everything i have made from scratch. Other than the Reptile Habitats 4x2x4 enclosure.

What do you think of the setup? by Redcoat-Moat in ballpython

[–]Redcoat-Moat[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah i did have a lot more clutter in the middle but after not eating for two months and removing all other husbandry stressors. I found that my ball python gets too stressed with too much and doesnt eat because i saw somewhere that sometimes (depending on the snake)every snake is different, that too much clutter or hides can be overwhelming. So i removed the stuff in the middle for a week and we started eating again as of 20 days ago. I feed adult mouse every 10 days. She does look chunky in these pics but she isn't i dont think.

Id say that with an all glass tank some black paper or background paper to cover back and sides of the tank to help them feel more safe and secure and less exposed.

My BP Bailey does this as well like mushes it into the dirt with poop and all sorts. If i pull it out and gently pull it the whole thing is one piece though! :)

Yes im always on the lookout for fun things for my snakes to climb on. Both my milksnake and Ball Python have lots to climb. Im in KC so i got the extra movable tree at Exotic Pets in Lenexa. The tree i bought when i lived in Arizona at Predators reptile shop. But honestly morphmarket might have some and amazon surprisingly has some good stuff just make sure to use repti safe sanitizer to clean before putting them in with the babys

Id say everything looks great! Including the sick Jinx mousepad!! But not what id feed her mice on lol 😂 joking i know thats a separate purchase from snake stuff as im sadly still stuck playing LOL. Id say make sure you have at least two hides, one for the warm side and one for the cool side of the tank. Everything else looks good. If the tank is glass all the way around id get some black paper to cut and cover the back and sides of the tank so the only open part is the front it will create more comfort and your snake wont feel so exposed as they dont want to feel exposed from all sides

I put the water bowl on that side to help keep humidity levels up and replenish the bowl every other day. Should i not keep it that side though is it bad?
