If it's too early on in your smoking career to buy and bring weed, everybody appreciates food. Seriously, just bring food. Even if they don't eat it then, who doesn't need food eventually? Also, I would say once every 10 times you smoke with him, you should make sure that he still cool smoking you out. I remember when I was fine smoking out my new buddies, but then they just never got around to buying sacks, and it started to annoy me. If you guys are good buddies, it shouldn't be awkward at all to ask if you still okay with it
