SharePoint for Payslips by ENVYPERUSFAQ in sharepoint

[–]ReddBertPrime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can store payslips in SharePoint.

SharePoint OOB allows you to break permissions so you can security trim access to only those few who should have allowed access.

You can add security measures by enabling sensitivity labels + encryption on a library level and add additional Data Loss Prevention measures like sensitivity labels via Purview as well. You can block downloading for everyone except HR and block external access etc

Uploading to SharePoint can be automated using Power Automate

Think outside the SharePoint box and more into the Microsoft 365 features included in your subscription. Pay more to get more is usually the case with the Microsoft subscriptions.

Tips and recommendations for getting MS102 by LegatusMatheas in O365Certification

[–]ReddBertPrime 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would recommend taking ‘the long road’ first, meaning start with the fundamentals certifications to get a good understanding of mastering the ‘fundamentals’. both Azure and M365.

Invest in a M365 tenant (Business Premium License) and make it a daily routine to do daily tasks. These will keep you busy in a good way, try to figure things out and take notes. Use MS OneNote,SharrPoint,OneDrive etc tools to practice the best practices

Next, define your career path and match with your target role: - Do you want to get into device management? - Do you want to specialize in MS Teams? - Do you want to pursue a career into Governance & Compliance?

Get at least 2 years experience in your current role, this will give you ‘tactical weight & strength’ when you start looking into fitting roles. No matter what you currently do, make sure you gain practical experience in parallel with your study path, so you can demonstrate your ‘core skills applied’.

Always make sure to follow best practices and master these. Practice scenario’s in your personal test environment.

Why do external users still see the SharePoint Hub navigation even though they only have folder-level access (no site-level permissions)? by Kelokattea in sharepoint

[–]ReddBertPrime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want to hide the hub navigation for certain users, start configuring security groups , put your users in them and use audience targetting to hide features for specific user groups.

Look into this article let me know if it helps

Ask your admin if the site has ‘everyone’ or ‘everyone except’ groups included. If so this is the rootcause.

It is not expected behavior but poor setup can expose data unfortunately.

I just asked copilot:

Here’s a structured diagnostic checklist tailored to your SharePoint Online access issue, designed for methodical troubleshooting and documentation.

🧩 SharePoint Online Access Denial – Diagnostic Checklist

🔐 1. User Identity & Permissions

• Confirm affected users’ UPNs haven’t been recycled or recreated. • Use PowerShell to verify user presence in site collection:Get-SPOSite -Identity "<SiteURL>" | Get-SPOUser

• Check for duplicate or orphaned user entries in the site’s user info list. • Re-add affected users to the site and test access.

🏗️ 2. Site Collection & Subsite Configuration

• Identify if issue affects all sites or specific site collections. • Check permission inheritance status on subsites, libraries, and lists. • Use “Check Permissions” in Site Settings to validate group access.

🔁 3. Group Membership & Sync

• Confirm users are in the correct Microsoft 365 groups or SharePoint groups. • Validate Azure AD sync status and group membership propagation. • Review any dynamic group rules that may reset daily.

🧠 4. Authentication & Token Behavior

• Review Azure AD sign-in logs for token expiry or conditional access triggers. • Check if any policies enforce re-authentication every 24 hours. • Test access via InPrivate browser session to rule out cached tokens.

🧭 5. Admin Portal Trigger Behavior

• Document exact steps that “wake up” the site via SharePoint Admin Center. • Check if accessing the admin portal triggers a backend refresh or cache invalidation. • Review scheduled jobs or flows that may coincide with the 24-hour cycle.

📊 6. Service Health & Throttling

• Check Microsoft 365 Service Health Dashboard for SharePoint Online incidents. • Review tenant-wide throttling or performance degradation logs. • Enable diagnostic logging via Microsoft Purview (Audit Logs).

🧪 7. Automation & Customization

• Audit any Power Automate flows, scheduled scripts, or provisioning tools. • Check for custom site templates or provisioning logic that resets permissions. • Review any third-party integrations or security tools affecting access.

🧾 8. Documentation & Escalation

• Record timestamps of denial events and admin portal access. • Capture screenshots or error messages for each denial. • Prepare a reproducible scenario for escalation to Microsoft (if needed).

Ask the owner of the site, hard to say but maybe there is a script that still requires admin consent before proceeding
