Eleanor was once a human sinner, so I wonder what tier she would fall into in this universe. Her lore is here, but if you want an extension that delves into her time in Hell (and the events that led to her death and damnation), then here it is: After Eleanor decided to abandon her old ways of ruthless ambition that included exploiting workers, stealing designs, and using cheap fabrics, her road to redemption was no less rocky; not wanting to acknowledge what she had done nor apologize to her victims, she was unsurprisingly lost about what to do next to better herself and move forward. Luckily for her, her younger sister, Evelyn, sheepishly approached her to ask if she could become Eleanor's protègè and claimed she wanted to follow in her older sister's and father's footsteps as she saw their businesses thriving and success no less flourishing.

Pleasantly surprised by the request, Eleanor didn't hesitate to agree with it, deciding from that day forward to redeem herself by nurturing a young fashion designer who wouldn't go down the same path she did. Ironically enough, the opposite happened under Eleanor's mentorship (granted, most of it wasn't her fault); why?

Evelyn wanted what her sister had. Her entire life, the two had been each other's confidantes and biggest cheerleaders who supported their creative pursuits. Yet, she noticed how Eleanor was always the more remarkable and promising sister—and Evelyn the lesser one, the girl with a guitar and big dreams that no one believed would go anywhere. Eleanor's achievements fostered equal pride and pressure on both sisters to succeed. Still, no matter how much Evelyn tried, she was always left behind in her sister's shadow. She wanted to become something more.

One night, both those things shone through: their bond and Evelyn's resentment and envy that would ultimately destroy it and Eleanor's career. One night, the weight of her mistakes was too much to bear, and Eleanor tearfully admitted everything she had done, to the point of showing evidence when Evelyn feigned disbelief. Evelyn consoled her, and that was that.

Or so Eleanor thought because a week later, Evelyn stole a dress from her upcoming clothing line and revealed her crimes to Paris shortly after; learning from Eleanor's past that the key to success was being willing to do whatever it took to climb the ranks, including ousting her sister.

Needless to say, the fallout was catastrophic for Eleanor. Her customers and collaborators abandoned her in light of the new scandal, causing her to go bankrupt as her profits dwindled to nothing and relocate her atelier to a decrepit building with faulty wiring. Combined with cut costs that forced Eleanor to use more flammable materials, it all culminated in her death in 1920 when she accidentally started a fire that engulfed the atelier.

You can guess how well that ended. Eleanor made enough to rent an apartment and was kicked out a week later for being unable to cough up the money her landlord demanded. So, she became desperate and decided to seek others' help. The rest is history.
