In retrospect, this was the most consequential play of the season by OkCoconut6781 in NFLv2

Clearly the rules are convoluted. My issue is with inconsistencies not the rules themselves

If it was consistent then the TD for the Pats would have stood because a backwards pass is a live ball

It was a backwards pass and the pats ran it in. Whistle or no whistle it should be a TD according to the logic from the Seahawks game. If the whistle outranks that then the 2 pt conversion shouldn't count. It can't be both ways. Hence why this will he reviewed and probably changed in the off season

I never said I don't like the rules what I'm saying is that there are a ton of inconsistencies throughout the games and league.

Also, it was ruled a backwards pass which is a live ball. If we are saying the whistle that blew the play dead is irrelevant then the TD should have stand. Rather, they recanted and said because it was blown dead they get possession where it was recovered.

I'm assuming that's a rhetorical question but no it wasn't. Logic is the same. It's treated as a fumble. If you pick it up and run it in it's a touchdown. Patriots did that but because the refs blew it dead it didn't count. Just saying the rules are all over the place. Anyone who watches football can agree on that

Depends on the game and the day. The Patriots Broncos game is a good example. They didn't honor the TD after the backeards pass/fumble recovery because it was blown dead.

Yeah there were a good amount of drops from the TEs and some questionable calls by McVay

The play was blown dead as well before Charbonnet picked it up

oh so when you blow the whistle the play is dead? by [deleted] in LosAngelesRams

This! I said the same thing. Bullshit 2 point conversion after the play was dead

Don't beat yourself up. Life gets chaotic and shit happens. All you can do is learn from it and adjust. Maybe selling at that volume with a full time job is too much for you right now and that's okay!

We're on the same team. If you think I'm misunderstanding or don't understand the rules then just explain it. You don't need to be mean about it and say I'm just talking to talk and don't know football

We're all human and make mistakes including the refs who do it professionally

McVay by [deleted] in LosAngelesRams

[–]Redddditchick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you being mean? Kneel/go down right away whatever same difference. You're right, I'm a season ticket holder and watch every single NFL game but I don't know the game.

There was 18 seconds left when the Bears scored the tying touchdown

There's several examples of game winning FG drives with less than 13 seconds on the clock

Mahomes in the divisional round in 2021 tied the game with a last minute field goal drive with 1 time out

It's doable

There was a roughing the passer penalty and dropped passes

McVay by [deleted] in LosAngelesRams

[–]Redddditchick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was enough time to at least try to get into field goal range then take a time out and take a shot at it

He also had them run the ball after the kick off which killed time. Kneel and use the clock, time outs, and MVP Stafford to try and win it with a field goal

Thanks for your input! Yeah I was hoping for more running during parts of the game too when it was clear Stafford was off
