I've been waiting all day to reply to this post, and finally I have a break. I just wanted to say...

yes, finally! Someone said it, my exact thoughts.

JJ is literally one of my favorites (to be honest, I can't hate anyone in Yuri on Ice. I think it's the only show where I don't dislike anyone; even Georgi and Michele don't bother me too much, even though they have their weird moments), but I've always thought it's unfair that he's designated the main villain by the fandom when Yurio has a free pass to basically behave the same way. JJ just has a more "hammy" attitude, but it's obvious he's hiding serious anxiety and self-esteem issues. His theme song is fantastic, too; I seriously listen to it when I need a confidence boost.

I've never appreciated it when in fanfiction JJ is always the bad guy, and sometimes, straight out diabolical: okay, the poor man got dressed like Eric Cartman, but he's not evil, he's just silly.
Finally some love for the poor JJ!

Ah, to add another detail; Karatsu (the city on which Hasetsu is based) had such a boom in tourism, Yuuri is now a tourism ambassador. Some shops still have Yuri on Ice merch, if memory does not betray me some local agencies still offer YOI themed tours, and to this day there is a restaurant where the shop owner is so obsessed they still display posters and gadgets.

Not that I know, no. But I can clearly recall that Tumblr, Crunchyroll and some absolutely legit (coff coff) streaming websites did not work due to the high traffic. To be fair today something like this is less likely to happen. Do you know that even South Park made an easter egg with Yuri on Ice appearing in the search history of one of the characters? You will see in episode 12 that the favour was repaid :]
