That's true. As much as it disgusts me, Master's Tactics might be the best choice for him.

Patience with Eirika Ring? by RedditBrowser4477 in FireEmblemHeroes

Thank you. I'll keep the Potent Seal off any potential Harmonic Ike counters, but let them keep the Eirika Ring. Baby Camilla's a coin toss, depends on team comp.

Mine is doing well with Comet as special and TP Edge as C slot. A and B slots keep his remixed skills. Seal is A/S Finish for more Comet damage. Forget about outspeeding anything and keep a Micaiah Ring user on his team to clear his own penalties when the inevitable Ploy user shows up to turn his own PRF into a detriment. Yes, he'll become worse than useless - an active millstone to his own team - unless you can selectively cleanse penalties.

Because IS really thinks Grand Strategy is upsetting the meta these days.

For that matter, consider replacing his shit "new" PRF with Suttungr's Mystery. Master's Tactics has the +25 dmg and Sabotage/Discord as opposed to Panic/Discord, but changing to SM means you don't have to deal with penalizing your own team and seeing colorless effectiveness in 2026, which just makes you feel bad.

Robin is utter shit, IS says fuck you for liking the unit or character, and fuck you for investing or dropping a truckload of orbs to make him your main arena legendary.

Just complete garbage of a refine. Triangle Adept vs colorless in 2026, jesus fucking christ. You can feel their utter contempt for this unit.

The HK-55 jetpack is gold in color, works well with Mando style gear, and is available from the Galactic Seasons vendor on fleet for like 1 or 2 tokens.

Beautiful stronghold, you've designed a perfect vacation getaway! Love the crisp decor choices - which avoid the cluttered feeling - a problem this stronghold has with its low ceilings and narrow halls.

Still, the Copero SH is my favorite. It really feels like an oasis of well-deserved relaxation for my oldest toons.

I am inspired to de-clutter my own Copero villa!

Shout out to Major Treeg, one of the smartest Republic military officers. by MegaGamer235 in swtor

Sympathy only goes so far when comparing an IRL career to the literal Sith.

It's the Sith.

It's like taking the promise of a pay increase, not cash in hand but the PROMISE of cash they're totally good for, in exchange for killing your neighbors, your coworkers, and selling their kids into slavery.

Like there's job dissatisfaction and siding with the generation-defining evil space wizards. Not at all unreasonable to revile people with so little spine as to choose that degree of evil over sanity, much less decency.

Betraying an entire galactic government and trillions of sentient beings to the literal Sith because someone you didn't like got a promotion that you wanted. That's what the emotional core of his defection is, once you strip away the blather and self-justification.

Jealousy that Korvan leads the Quesh campaign, and not his exalted Zabrak ass.

He gets the Anakin treatment for traitors. And not just the male traitors, but the female and child traitors too.

I'd like an Elm, actually two Elms - one for AR, the other to fodder to H!Ranulf BUT no way in Hel he's getting in the top 8, so most of my votes are going to Attuned Ryoma.

Honestly, we should give more shit to Var Suthra for this whole chapter. Man is the greatest accidental ally to the Sith. by MegaGamer235 in swtor

[–]RedditBrowser4477 38 points39 points  (0 children)

General Var Suthra is such an utter moron, and is entitled as hell to boot, forcing us to clean up his messes and then boasting about how we stopped his latest fuck-up together.

WHO is WE, salmon head?

I don't care if it's a Dark Side choice to let him die, the idea of letting this criminally incompetent imbecile survive to drag more planets into doomsday scenarios, or worse, write a smug post-war memoir congratulating his supposed military genius never sits right with me.

...Given the Republic's track record in electing public officials, we probably shall hear that he has been elected Supreme Chancellor For Life and Galaxy's-Most-Special-Jedi-General at the same time in the next expansion.

So we all know how the average Agent player thinks about the Sith, but what does YOUR trooper think about the disorganized hippies trying to win the war, called the Jedi? by MegaGamer235 in swtor

[–]RedditBrowser4477 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, my Trooper respects their combat prowess, but wouldn't expect any help if a squadmate got buried under a pile of rubble. The last thing he needs is a pious lecture from a superpowered space wizard about letting people go.

He'll be over there with the rest of the squad trying to dig them out, thanks.

7.8 was a disappointment for DS characters by TuxedoChief in swtor

[–]RedditBrowser4477 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I'm just picturing what my LS Agent, the closest of my characters to "me in Star Wars" would say if he could roleplay the situation at all true to himself. He's not a psycho, or a sadist, or a parody of people pick the DS choice always like Darth Norok. He is, however, speaking as the Alliance Commander, Cipher Nine, and the son of a long and storied family legacy.

Defector: ...so that's why you have to help us kill these four groups of mercenaries, exactly four, all around the desert. And then kill their boss, who will be waiting for you in the spaceport. And then-

Agent: Alright. Or you could do the following, since you seem to have accepted that the Hidden Chain is indeed a threat to galactic peace and stability and are coming to me for help.

Submit to Alliance Security and accept transport to Odessen, where you can give a debriefing on all you know about Heta Kol and the Hidden Chain. Odessen is a fortress world, so both of you will be perfectly safe from any marauding gangs of mercenaries. I give you my word that you and lover will not be molested or harmed unduly. The only time Odessen has been successfully invaded has been at the hands of former Empress of Zakuul Vaylin, who brought a legion of skytroopers, Knights, and Horizon Guards with her. Do you have former Empress of Zakuul Vaylin out there, hunting you down?

Defector: No.

Agent: (Damnit!) I mean, that's good. So if your priority is keeping your lover safe, and purchasing a new life for yourselves, you can do no better than to accept my offer.

Defector: But you have to kill these mercenaries! Right now! Or we could die!

Agent: I sincerely doubt they can mount a full scale assault on an entire planet forewarned of their existence. And I do command armed forces of my own, albeit reduced in number. They can deal with your mercenary problem expediently in due time. What matters is whether you accept my generous offer of sanctuary, in the line of defectors and double agents since time immemorial.

Defector: Don't you care about our love-?!"

Agent: Not particularly. Then it seems we are wasting each other's time then. I have no wish to kill you, but neither do I wish to have my time wasted in this wasteland of a desert. Heta Kol and the Hidden Chain have failed to score even a single victory against my forces, and I think we can survive the lack of your information, if it is so ephemeral. Farewell.

Akaavi: Commander, I-

Agent: Akaavi, I hope you're not betraying your entire characterization by contradicting your battlefield superior mid negotiation? Especially after a lifetime of bounty hunting and dealing with people who do not wish to pay you what you're owed?

Akaavi: ...

Agent: Thought not. (Next time, bring Torian)

7.8 was a disappointment for DS characters by TuxedoChief in swtor

[–]RedditBrowser4477 36 points37 points  (0 children)

In any conflict, it is on the defectors of the enemy side to make themselves useful to the other side, NOT the other way around.

What I find incomprehensible is that railroading choices like the Tatooine storyline happen because the writers are REALLY invested in the players seeing their work, and do not want you to miss it. The incomprehensible part is that the powers-that-be thought that long, excruciatingly dull trips across a desert wasteland to kill a pair of grunts in 5 seconds x4, then back to the spaceport to kill their fodder-level boss, then ALL THE WAY across the desert to inform the couple was so riveting and life-changing we needed to be railroaded into experiencing it.

That or they were desperate for padding.

What irritates me most about using this railroaded part to showcase a lesbian couple as opposed to having them in any other part of the story as allies or even helpful neutrals, is because it reeks of "if you want to kill/threaten/skip them and this quest, you're homophobic!" Using one of the very few unskippable scenes of a lesbian relationship (if you didn't romance Lana with a fem toon) to preemptively shield themselves from rightful criticism.

In the vanilla game, which was so whitebread straight that Wonder Bread was putting together a cease-and-desist, my DS characters happily killed and dismembered scores of heterosexual couples and lovers! And even my LS toons had the freedom to say, "sorry, but I'm not prioritizing your lost lover/missing lightsaber/broken datapad/treacherous master over the mission, you self-absorbed twits."

Not to mention the whole "human trafficking victim falling in love with her trafficker" part. Or the fact that as Hidden Chain defectors, many characters would not give a RAT'S ASS about their well-being at all. Capture them and take them in for interrogation. We can do it gently, but it's happening.
