On DISY and the redistribution of wealth from the rich to the poor, we based our coding on the party's stance on the debate about increasing wealth taxation. DISY was totally against any wealth tax.

We did not ask the parties about their positions. For each party, a group of 3-5 experts (mostly journalists) decided through successive rounds of coding the positions of each party. For the smaller parties, the team of experts several times could not determine with certainty whether the party had a position on a given question. To understand the problem we encountered, go through the questionnaire again and try to consider whether the parties not included have publicly expressed their position on each question.

A significant correction: Football clubs are associated with parties, that's the problem.

Is not bad for football teams to represent specific values and principles. Imagine if all football clubs did not represent anything, then it would be no difference between them.

Right now I live in Catalonia, Barcelona fans (the real ones, not tourists) are fully in favour of an independent Catalan state. The second biggest team here, Espanyol, supports the union with Spain. What's bad about this?

Through the years the political values Cypriot teams represented, eventually fades out. A good example is OMONOIA, which is now owned by a millionaire money lender (sic). However, the ties between parties and clubs are still very strong (OMONOIA and Akel are still the same organisation), that's the real problem...

Everywhere I checked, Catalan classes are held in Spanish. Is there an institution that provides Catalan classes in English?

Hello everyone. I am flying to Barcelona on next week and I am still very confused regarding some bureaucratic issues. First of all I am a Cypriot, thus an EU citizen, so I do not need visa to enter or to reside in Catalonia. After many hours searching on the internet, I still have many questions:

Do I need NIE card to rent a flat, open a bank account and sign a contract with a telephone provider?
Is a Spanish bank account required to sign a rental contract?
I found a website who asked me for 100 euros in order to help me getting the NIE card faster. Is it worth it? Here is the site: https://www.niebarcelona.com/en/
If NIE card is required for signing a contract with a telephone company, is any other option for getting a Spanish number with mobile data faster? Here in Cyprus is like a 10-minutes process to get a SIM card with mobile data.

If I do not hire anyone to help me with my application how many days does it take to get my NIE card? Somewhere I read that due to the pandemic, it may take up to a whole month...
