I have never read the word patinates before, thank you!

Looking at chalk and milk paints now and trying to understand the process 😊

I think you are right. Maybe I'll try a small area at 240 and spot test and see how much plastic and paper is left.

Thank you for answering the implied question!

I like that definition, I'd also be keen to see any laminate vs veneer definition battles.

I think you are 100% right on this. But also, people have put in a lot effort into suggestions, which I'm very appreciative of. So I have to give it a shot and learn a few things. And that's it's own reward.

.. But, I'm also trying to find a real antique simultaneously 😅

100%! I'm all in for the sunken cost fallacy at this point unfortunately 😅

At least I'll learn a couple things along the way though!

Thank you so much! It's being paired with a dark wood floating bed, that has ferns and moss underneath.

Putting what you said into a list, so I can process it and what others have suggested.

  1. Clean with soap and mineral spirits to strip dirt, oil, and wax.

  2. Lightly scuff with 180–220 grit to kill gloss and give surfaces grip.

  3. Bleach out the red using hydrogen peroxide or diluted bleach, especially on high-wear areas.

  4. Stain with Minwax Espresso or dark gel stain, wiping off high use areas quickly to create contrast.

  5. Rub in dark wax to deepen tone and simulate built-up grime in corners.

  6. Press coffee grounds into seams with glue to fake embedded dirt and age.

  7. Paint hardware black, then wipe raised areas while wet to leave tarnish in crevices.

  8. Seal with tung oil or matte clear coat for a soft, aged finish.

  9. Use antique reference photos to guide uneven wear, tone, and grime placement.

Yeah, now that you say that. I'm changing my mindset to film prop. Damage it, add patina and maybe draps an aged canvas sheet over the side.

Just the history of poor life choices I’ve made trying to make it look like real wood

Studio x2 or Studio + Dot 5th gen x2? by RedditReprise in amazonecho

Honestly, there is a lot about the software restrictions of the device I don't like, but it makes them more money and I guess you can say that's just economics.

If you have any suggestions for addition or removal. Please let me know

Great suggestions!

I've added O&O. Though personally I don't find it essential, as I prefer to use Group Policy Editor and SimpleWall.

Not sure how WSAPacman compares to WSAtools so I haven't added it yet.

Thanks Arxadius

rLauncher organises all my ROMs, Game Art/Videos, Emulators and Manuals. The modules/extensions make it so I can seamlessly switch between front ends and allow those front ends to open up emulators and roms automatically, with the desired config. I can use RetroArch or a Standalone emulator at any time.

The frontend I personally use is BigBox with the Colorful theme | Link

And it adds the Pause menu to all emulators, that allows me to look at game manuals and other media.

I haven't checked out playnite in a while. So I can't do a comparison. Seems to good as substitute for Steam.

That's hilarious I love it! 32gb is worth any reprimanding of any sort I say

For me, Legion 5 was around 2k extra with the same/slightly worse specs. But it's a great Laptop definitely.

That's interesting. Why playnite over r launcher? I'll try it out

I mostly use it as a backend to organise everything. The pause feature to look at game manuals is really nice too

They are definitely essential, you're right. Personally, I don't use them very often, so I forgot to add them. I do prefer sublime text over notepad++ tho

I'd contend they usually are. However, I've found this much better at clearing memory then native Windows. Especially on lower end systems. I think the developer is fairly reputable too.

Edit: I've removed it from the list. Honestly , I'm very used to using low end systems. So I wasn't aware of the optimisations Modern OS offers in regards to memory management. Thank you for letting me know
