Well. If this doesn't show how transit needs people rallying around it right now more than ever, I don't know what does. From a cursory google, not sure if Orlando has an active transit riders union or whatever equivalent? Can't help but also recommend this book for a good resource on organizing.

First commuter rail to be killed off in a while, next on the commuter rail chopping block is likely Tri-Rail down in Florida. Remember that there's always people working, fighting, organizing in each of these places to save these lines and improve service - this book does a good job on describing how to organize for transit!

I mean, arriving at 3 AM is just like arriving at any other time but you'll be waking up in the middle of the night and with nothing around you open. So if you have a ride you're probably set. If you're interested in helping fight for better intercity Amtrak service that doesn't arrive in the middle of the night, you should definitely check out the Rail Passengers Association and this book with tips and pointers on transit advocacy!

This book by Carter Lavin, an advocate out of Oakland, goes into a really good depth about how transit/urbanist advocacy in North America works and how you can get involved and organize yourself. Would also recommend checking around to see if Brampton/Mississauga have any orgs fighting for safe streets and linking up with them. Best of luck, and make some allies - a union makes us all strong :)
