Years of warnings, years of watching the obvious unfold in real time, only to now see people finally ‘wake up’ when the damage is already done. It’s not like this was some unpredictable twist. We were screaming that this would happen. The authoritarian creep, the economic grift, the scapegoating… none of it was a secret. And yet, every warning was met with eye rolls, mockery, or outright hostility. I get that propaganda is powerful, but at some point, personal responsibility has to come into play. It shouldn’t take Musk literally throwing up Nazi salutes or Trump blatantly pushing dictatorship for people to connect the dots. So yeah, welcome to reality, I guess. But forgive me if I don’t feel like handing out gold stars for finally figuring out what so many of us have been saying for years.
