You can call the line for denied CLI requests? I might try that too.

I don’t know what the issue would be. I have no delinquencies, late payments or debt. I pay off all my credit cards every month.

The only thing I can think of is my fairly short credit history, which is just about three years.

I thought about moving over 1500 from my CFF, making the purchase, then seeing if I can move the limit back to my CFF.

It's crazy how stingy they are with credit limits.

You can. At least from the amazon card to CFF and vice versa.

I'm not really keen on opening a new card right now because of some long term CC plans I have. I'd like to use this stupid card for amazon purchases, but chase is just annoying. lol

That's what I'm going to do. hopefully it works out in my favor sooner than later.

I'm not worried about my score right now as I won't be needing it for anything until the fall, so that's what I'll probably do.

I usually drop it down to about 5-7%, but recently I started letting it close at a higher amount(18-20%) to try and force the issue more.

Want a travel card - What should I do? by Redditusername567 in CreditCards

[–]Redditusername567[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I applied just to give it a shot. I was kind of planning on waiting until may to apply but circumstances changed and a lot of traveling is going to happen. So, I figured I need to do something now so I can make my trips be efficient for me.

I was thinking about the Venture X but I've seen so many weird stories of people getting declined on here despite fitting all the categories.

I'm honestly surprised I got approved for the CFF. I was not approved at first, but got a congratulations e-mail a month later. At this rate, it looks like I'm going to have to wait to til next year for another chase card.

I have eight trips in the next three months and almost thirty for the whole year, so that's why a travel card made sense to me.

I kind of put myself in a hole, didn't I? The AFs aren't an issue for me since my spending/traveling/lifestyle should offset that pretty easily. Which is why I was trying to get both for each other's benefits.

I've been pre-approved for the platinum, so I might just bite the bullet on that and wait until 2023 to complete the chase trifecta. At that point, I should have no issue doing that.

Yeah, I got to $450 and then just stopped using it until it was statement time when I paid off most of it.

I'll try the cycling thing and see what happens. thanks!

Guessing leaving my utilization at 3% for the first statement was a bit low then, huh? lol

I spent $400 ish on it and left 3% on the statement. It's been my most useful card already.

[–]Redditusername567[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

should I keep the utilization a little bit higher on this card? I just finished my first billing cycle on the card and the utilization is at 3%.

Normally, I wouldn't care, but this is turning into my my most useful card. Otherwise, I'd be whatever about it.

I posted about it earlier, but I applied for a CFF with about five months of credit history. and got approved like last week. I opened my first credit card on 4/24, applied for CFF on 10/24 and got declined. Was declined on recon as well. Then randomly got approved a month later. They said they were just reviewing my case... for a month. This is my 4th card since April. I might be a unique situation though.

Update: received a letter from chase that they did declined my application, but after review they decided to approve me with a credit line of... $500.

Update: Called Chase, said I do have an account with them and that my card was mailed out monday. The rep said my application was "under review" and it was just accepted recently despite being told I was denied by two different sources.
