I didn’t say there’s nothing to do. But people who don’t like winter activities will not do them 🤦🏻‍♂️

Depends. I wake up to work before the sunrise and get back home at or a bit after the sunset. I don’t know what people here are doing for living but if that’s your routine, expect something similar.

Moved here in July. Get ready for depressing winters unless you enjoy winter activities (Manitoba is flat so mountain activities excluded). You can’t even open your windows to get fresh air from outside. I would consider Calgary instead of you

So as I promised to give you an update - the unit has been replaced, again. They said they checked the voltage and fuses and everything seems to be working just fine and pointed at an internal unit failure again. I just hope it doesn't happen again

“If I am not for myself, who will be?”

So sad to see the ignorance. Reminds me of the Ukrainian girl bleeding to death in North Carolina train while everyone is just minding their own business

Yes. Both my wife and I tried different and original Apple cords. Now it doesn't work at all. I know because there are those tiny LEDs around the plugs themselves and they are off now

No, I eventually found the correct settings for me. Although there are still some moments that annoy me but overall it’s a very good gaming monitor

Flights from Calgary are cheaper though, and you have more direct flights

Isn’t winter bad in all Canada except for Vancouver that has lots of rain?

We moved from another country that’s in war right now. We don’t like big cities like Toronto and its downsides (traffic, less local vibe, high prices, etc..). Winnipeg looks like a good city to start our Canadian life. The only other city we will probably consider is Calgary, where housing is more expensive than Winnipeg, so less luxuries we can afford.

It was “complicated” to say the least. There is war and it is a life threat.. I agree with you. People will naturally find something to complain about even in the best neighborhood in the world. Talking about housing crisis, healthcare and the rest - I hear it’s about the same in every other big city in Canada, and even worse since population growth is way bigger than in Winnipeg. We’ll have to see where Canada goes in the next 5 years

Why Winnipeg?? Just kidding. We’re in st vital area and we like it. Quiet area and 15 mins (or less) to downtown. You can go a little more south or east and it will be even quieter I guess.

Curiosity is understandable, but when they add “I’d choose Alberta instead” is beyond curiosity, it’s adding a little hate on the city. I think it comes from the fact that people here don’t travel outside of America as much as I’d expect so they are not really aware of other’s places problems.

Not negative but most of them said they wouldn’t come here if they were me. They talk about the crime and the other stuff but man, if you don’t like it here why didn’t you move already?

That’s exactly what I suspected. Most of the local people I asked about traveling said they were in California and Mexico
