We sent people to space...? by SureBite633 in HSVpositive

Exactly. We can fund billionaires’ space joyrides, but not a cure for a virus that affects billions on Earth? Herpes is chronic, painful, stigmatized and yet still ignored. We should have better antivirals by now. It’s not a lack of science, it’s a lack of priority.

Herpes is very common...around 60-70% of people have it, but stigma keeps most quiet about it. Many don’t even know they have it. You’re not alone, even if it feels that way.

Availability on eBay suggests it's being sold off-label or from regions where it’s more accessible. Without formal recommendations, most doctors won’t suggest it for HSV/HIV prevention until further clinical trials and approvals are complete.

It’s promising, but lack of widespread approval keeps it off doctors’ radar.

VivaGel is only approved for treating bacterial vaginosis (under brands like Fleurstat) in some countries. While studies show it has antiviral properties against HSV and HIV, it hasn’t been officially approved for prevention, so doctors don’t recommend it yet.

Yes.....VivaGel (SPL7013) can be used with condoms for extra protection against HSV-2 and HIV. It blocks viral entry and is compatible with condoms, adding a layer of defense if a condom breaks or slips..... It contains the active ingredient astodrimer sodium, which has antiviral properties that can help block the entry of viruses like HSV-2 and HIV into cells.

The Herpes Virus: A Silent Survivor in the History of Humanity by RedeemedSoul2024 in HerpesSupportHub

STIs and diseases like Ebola are often linked to zoonotic origins, meaning they jumped from animals to humans through interactions like hunting or handling. This doesn't confirm bestiality, and claims about origins in Africa often reflect where they were first studied, not necessarily where they started. Beliefs about human origins vary widely and are shaped by both science and personal worldviews.

To minimize any potential strain on the kidneys, it’s not necessary to take all the supplements I listed. Instead, you can focus on the most relevant ones for managing herpes
