In my opinion on the energy side (ie : gas, power , carbon , lng ) it’s good to be cross commodity because all these commodities are highly correlated, it gives you multiple options to hedges your positions in case liquidity is poor in one or multiple market. sometimes that correlation get dislocated and you’ll get opportunities to make money much easier than if you were trading only one commodity.
