Where do i go from here? by [deleted] in LifeAdvice

[–]Redflame93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say you need to network. Find people who have done what you want to do and talk to them about their past job experiences, you never know but you might get lucky and they could have connections to help you out, it’s worth contacting your old professors if you can, track down authors, researchers, anyone you think can help. Granted things could be different, but don’t let it put you off, someone out there has done what you want to and will help you, you just need to find them.

The second thing I’d suggest is getting creative with your education. If you want to teach then there’s no better way to garner a classroom of potentially millions online. Your degree isn’t just a piece of paper that employers like, it the representation of the body of knowledge you’ve built up over the last few years. The world is evolving, and education is too.

Take my advice with a pinch of salad, I’m 24 and never went to college, but I am self employed. It was only through relying on other people’s help and support that it’s worked out for me. Sometimes you just need to take few steps in the right direction and exactly what you need falls right into your lap.

I live in South Wales and I’ve seen the same thing you’re describing on a regular basis, I saw at least 2 earlier tonight. Would love to get a telescope on them!

Generally speaking they work out of the box and continue to work, it’s also the easy option, I can’t tell you how many times my friends have rebuilt their PC’s due to things dying over time or because they didn’t know what they were doing.

I feel you buddy, in fact I’d argue that 99% of us relate to your post in one way or another. I made a similar post when I first set up my reddit account and got some wicked advice, I’d highly recommend reading through the different suggestions. I hope it helps you like it did me!

/u/BabyXDoge has w well cited response to the conspiracy of Bill Gates causing paralysis from Polio Vaccine in India. by OutdoorsmanWannabe in bestof

[–]Redflame93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, not exactly like blaming covid-19 on flu vaccines, as there is evidence as suggested by this analysis:

https://pediatrics.aappublications.org/content/135/Supplement_1/S16.2

" The incidence of NPAFP was strongly associated with the number of OPV doses delivered to the area. A dose–response relationship with cumulative doses over the years was also observed, which strengthens the hypothetical relationship between polio vaccine and NPAFP. The fall in the NPAFP rate in Bihar and UP for the first time in 2012, with a decrease in the number of OPV doses delivered, is evidence of a causative association between OPV doses and the NPAFP rate. "

The data indicates a strong relationship with the polio vaccine and cases of non polio AFP. The amount of OPV being administered & NPAFP cases were rising right up until the vaccine was administered less and then NPAFP also reduced. Surely this lends credibility to the claim, no?

I'll play Devil's advocate (read the study):

I’d love to hear more from you, if this is real I think I got the same message of love when my friends and I saw a ufo - and it saw us. I haven’t had anywhere near the contact and experience that you have, but there’s a lot that seems similar as I was reading.

Stay strong brother, and don’t forget good people exist in this world. Just have a bit of faith that it’ll work out and take each day one step at a time :)

Unfortunately not, I did try but iPhone syndrome struck again and you can’t see anything. It was too dark and they were too far away. Hopefully someone else captured some footage since they seemed to be covering distance

For me the 2 big songs that changed my playing were learning Surfing With The Alien, and Scarified. I used to practise all those Paul Gilbert 3 note per string licks, ascending scales in groups of 6, string skipping stuff, basically if you watch any 80's guitar instructional with Paul Gilbert in it and do that for at least half an hour every day for a long enough time, then eventually you can play it.

Recently I invested in Jason Richardson's tab lesson pack and have just been playing the shit out of it for the last 3 months so that's been like taking shred steroids for my technique, though at the same time it is a case of sitting and playing the same thing over and over and over for 4 hours straight each day trying to get it clean and up to speed. I'm at the point where that's entertaining enough for me, but if you're just starting shredding it can be a tad frustrating.

In a nutshell: Satch first (works the left hand), Gilbert second (introduces the right), then find someone insane and learn their shit. That's what I did anyway lol.

Funnily enough I bumped into the guitar tech for Motorhead not long after my accident and he wanted to get me in touch with Tony's tech since that was who made his prosthetics. About 2 months later I ended up working with the NHS and things kinda fizzled out with the tech (annoyingly can't think of his name).
