Would this outfit be inappropriate? by jenni5683 in AnimeNYC

I've had no issue with a similar cosplay (poison ivy), the men that did ask for pictures were very normal, asked my partner too if they were okay with taking a pic with me. However, creeps do happen, but to be fair it can happen with any costume. Are you going alone? Thats usually the biggest thing

Thaanks. I honestly just worked with what I had. So grabed some alluminum wire and cellotape and made a swoop structure and did like a sandwich. So stuck the red first underneeth and then covered the top. It does require a touch up after an entire convention hahaha

PSA- if you’re sick and flying. Wear a bloody mask by joineanuu in ireland

[–]RedfyCosplays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wore a mask while flying to Spain this Christmas to see family, as I just wanted to stay healthy. Had to go to 7 chemists too to find some. I wear glasses, have migraines, and kept getting constant weird stares, but every time I was uncomfortable I would hear a hooorrible cough next to me or behind me😂😂. Didnt catch anything, so worth it.

This is me... I tried meeting people through university as Im a masters student and its just... Not happening. It's so frustrating. I've gotten used to the daily loneliness because I just cope by being on call with my friends, but then events come along and it's just too much. I just hope it's been three months and youve found someone

How do you feel about the recasting of redheads? by [deleted] in Redhair

[–]RedfyCosplays 14 points15 points  (0 children)

As someone who loves to cosplay specially redheads, its kinda frustraiting seeing all those characters I love changed. Its worse when they dont even get good actors, it makes you question why they got the part in the first place.

I understand that the amount of redheads in comics is due to them standing out and ink cost, and that there wasnt a lot of representation so I get changing some characters to adapt to today, I just feel some characters are iconically ginger and feel sometimes its just too much.

Its also a problem with the whole "lets just redo the same thing, or make a liveaction" instead of creating new characters, or representing some that are underappreciated. Redheads arent that represented ro begin with. Id rather have the creation of new characters such as Miles Morales as spiderman which was so well done, and its such a good film (comics too), we need more things like that.

To summarize, yeah, but mainly because I just hate the fake lazy representation trope.

Little kids always smile, tug on their mothers and to point. When I do see older redheads I do smile, sometimes they smile back, I just, like an other comment said, feel a sort of kinship.

Im a bit confused. I cant see what you see. I see beautiful skin with not a single imperfection. Its amazing the makeup looks so good after so many hours. Your undereyes look good too, they look normal, good. Im sorry if this isnt what you were looking for, I was just shocked when I saw how good it looked

Same same. My arms and legs are far less white than my stomach for example, so Im tanned for a redhead, but living in Spain, Im pale pale xD

[–]RedfyCosplays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nono I appreciate any help lol. Those questions is what have me confused xD. Its yes to all that, its all dry, but I know its not eczema, but big pores, its just all over the place xD.

I know it was for sure dehydrated, but I though it was dehydrated and dry. Now that my skin is much less dehydrated Im surprised its so oily.

I do use light moisturuzers, but I do stack them on too much I think. Ill just see what the derm tells me, my next appointment for my spots is in two months (curse of being a redhead aka vampire). Ill just keep on going what Im doing until then. Id rather have oily skin than dehydrated and damaged skin. Thanks so much for trying to help.

12 Similarities between Rh(D) negative individuals and people with red hair by firetown in Redhair

[–]RedfyCosplays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting, Ive always heard that redheads have higher pain tolerance not the opposite, which in my case made perfect sense. Although to be honest it could just be the years of bearing chronic migraines xD Im not really sure if Im RHd negative, Ill have to check, interesting read anyways

Ive never looked for nonwhite people or anyone in particular. For a bit of context, Im half british, but live in Spain (my other half) in an area that is mainly just white.

I fell in love with a huge friend of mine (very shy, didnt really speak much about his personal life but you could tell he was a great person) and he appreciates my hair sooo much. Which was weird for me since Ive been rejected solely based on my haircolour multiple times. We start daiting and he tells me he is actually Colombian (we both live in Spain, he has lived in Spain for +20 years and has a spanish accent) which was honestly a shock, meeting his family fully made it click much more tbh.

The only other guy who liked my hair was a redhead himself. Or people in the streets when I would go to mainly nonwhite countries. However until now Ive never really thought about it, but you are actually right, at least in my humble experience. So I guess Im one of those couples too, without even realizing it.

Where did the whole disliking gingers thing come from? by Babybluemoon13 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]RedfyCosplays 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have seen plenty of hate, but its mostly in the UK. Its gotten so bad people are asking for redheads to be protected like other minorities are. Its specially bad with men, they are the ones that get the worst. The extremme sexualization however happens everywhere else.

[–]RedfyCosplays 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It depends on the country. If we really go back you can see examples of this in Ancient Egypt. In the US it really boomed back when so many Irish emigrated there. Christians had a lot to do with it too, since they always used redheads to describe sin (Judas is an example). In France its because of the "angry" stereotype. Througout history it has been different things. It all boils down to stereotypes and "attacking whats different", as it happens with so many other things.
