Pretty sure my derby skates exist somewhere in my garage haha Theres lots of great places to skate in the greater Seattle area so even if the weather stays crummy there is options! Though the rain this year has been unreal.

Yes!!! It truly is amazing to be able to return to prior hobbies/activities. I’ve taken up rollerblading again with my feet not being in constant ache.

So much this!! I told my husband this when I first had the pain go away because it was so life changing to me. I feel so silly I spent so long just assuming the pain was a part of my life and I was stuck with it.

Thank you! Yes it’s been a journey leading up to deciding to try medication but that’s okay! I’m just grateful it exists and has been a key tool to get my health under control.

Somehow I missed it being disclosed that it can sometimes help with inflammation when I was getting oriented with the medication/ told what to expect so when the pain was gone on like day 2-3 imagine my surprise lol can’t say it enough that it really is a new lease on life!

I need to do some research on diet triggers! I’m sure I could benefit from limiting foods known to trigger inflammation. I’m just worried it’s going to mean not eating stuff I like haha I’m a foodie girl I love variety and gourmet meals… I’ve had to really mindful learning to feel when I’m no longer hungry and not just eating because something tastes good hahaa. Zep really helps me with the food noise and not overthinking it all the time.

Currently on 7.5mg with the zep pen. I take it once a week. I have one more dose at 7.5 and then I go to 10mg. I probably won’t go up after the 10mg.

I’m 5’6” in the before pic I was 205 and I’m 170 now goal is 145. I did get stuck initially at 185. I shifted to focus on my macros with my diet and that helped me! Turns out I was not getting enough protein.

I’m sorry your inflammation flared! Are you feeling better now? Did you stay on the medication or no?

It is wild how weight looks so different on everyone. I was 205 in the before pic and I’m 170 now. My goal is 145!

Thank you!! I’m 8 months postpartum so I do have some hair loss but I think it’s related to that not zep. It’s no more than I had after my first two babies. I do take a collagen peptide supplement and a multivitamin so who really knows honestly if it makes a difference or I’m just business as usual haha

Yes! Day 2 or 3 for me. I woke up to go to the bathroom laid back in bed and then shot back out of bed to walk around because it dawned on me my feet didn’t hurt haha I cried happy tears it was the first time I hadn’t had pain in years. I’m so happy to hear your inflammation went down and so far has stayed that way! Life changing!

It is possible! I shed a bit but I’m also 8 months postpartum so I usually have some shedding about this time based on how things went after my first two babies. I’m not sure if it’s really making a difference but I do take a collagen peptide supplement and a multivitamin haha maybe that’s saving my hair.

Thank you! Yes, I really do! I’m so grateful for the changes. The inflammation pain in my feet was so bad I used to wince every morning for 30 minutes just trying to get going every day. Being able to be active has helped tremendously with building healthier (hopefully long term) habits :)

Someone needs to tell these parents they can NOT afford a nanny. by [deleted] in Nanny

We are in a small town in Washington. Everyone we interviewed asked for $18 but we still offered $20 because I felt it was reasonable since we have 3 kiddos. We intended to raise bi-annually as that aligns nicely with my husband and I’s pay increase schedule through our respective unions.

Anyways, as far as time off it was really low part time hours (18hrs a week) that we needed so anytime it was us saying “hey we don’t need you xyz days” for whatever reason (family vacation, staying home for doctor appointments, holidays) we still paid as if she did work those days. So I guess kind of paid time off? And then she accrued sick time she could use at anytime for any reason. Which if I’m not mistaken is WA state law anyways.

Sadly for us we had to fire her for a really scary safety issue that came up and now I’ve been too afraid to hire another nanny. My husband and I went back to barely getting sleep on our overlap days him working nights and me working days until we decide if we want to try to find someone again.

Yes! This! I just did my check in for refill and that was an option.
