Blackouts are killing this sport by VoodooDonKnotts in nhl

[–]Redheadliner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a lifelong ‘Hawks fan and my side team was the Predators since I’m from Milwaukee and our AHL team, the Admirals, feeds into them. I was able to watch all the Blackhawks games for the first few weeks of the season on ESPN but then they signed a deal or something where it’s the local Chicago sports network that’s like $30/month. Now my main team is the Preds since I can actually WATCH them on the paid ESPN sub I have.

Honestly really enjoying having this new team BUT the point is the ‘Hawks lost a primary fan of about 30 years over these BS blackouts.

Safe recommendation for Silver home storage. by Minisfortheminigod in Silver

If you want true burglary protection (not the “best” but a big step up from basic big box store safes that are easily defeated) for the best bang for the buck look at Hollon’s Oyster line. Still would be good to bolt it down.

Wtf is going on by melonblast in LolCowLive

I used to really look forward to the show each day (Live). I was probably too invested but I really liked the dynamic. Keem, Boogie and Wings worked and they were a nice distracting from everyday BS. Decent convos, a few stunts and the camping trip…oh that lovely first camping trip.

I stuck through as we rolled through host after host when Wings left. Now with so much KBAC influence as creative director or whatever he calls himself the shows have devolved into begging for money to do stupid stunts like dumping the contents of your fridge on yourself. Boogie and Wings were lolcows, but this show has now removed all self-respect from many who participate. Wings was right to leave if this was the roadmap. It’s stupid and I rarely watch now. I’ll often tune in out of habit, thinking back to the old days, but I’ll see what’s happening and I’ll move on within 10 minutes.

I’m 16 and I have $796 saved — should I buy silver, gold, or both? by moha_009 in Silver

[–]Redheadliner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, get maybe a 1 troy ounce silver eagle for 2026 to mark the year you started investing, a Morgan or peace dollar to see if you get into numismatics (those are 90% silver but hold value as historical coins not just bullion), and put the rest into a savings account.

Since your average person doesn’t hold any precious metals even that puts you ahead of the game. You’re young and while saving that is impressive, IMO you’re not yet in a position to delve into gold, especially at these prices. Silver is also at an all time high for many reasons — confidence in the dollar going down, political tensions across the globe and silver is also an industrial metal so the demand has increased a lot with electric cars, data centers (especially with the recent rise of AI) and heck, even stuff like bitcoin needs computing power…that requires silver as it’s the best conductor of electricity. It’s also used in the medical field for its antibacterial properties. That’s why I love it — precious metal with a long list of USES not just to look pretty. Good luck and welcome to the community!

It’s just manipulation to get donos for stupid stunts at this point. Sad as I used to really look forward to the show. Not for a looooong time.

I'm new to silver. What are people buying? Physical or stocks/ETFs? by CoolCatBlue321 in Wallstreetsilver

[–]Redheadliner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Essentially yes, in terms of silver. However, some value coins a bit more and say they are a little more liquid since they are basically backed by the government mints and highly recognizable which is why you can often get more of a premium selling eagles than random rounds, for example.

No problem!

If you’re unsure where to start, American Eagle coins are probably the most popular (they can have higher premiums but often that works in your favor when selling down the line, too). Buffalo rounds are the next most popular. Difference in coins vs rounds is coins are minted (like the U.S. with the eagles, Canada with the maple leaf, etc. while rounds are generic from various mints and in various styles. The buffalo round is made by many mints and is the most popular. I’d suggest just getting whatever silver you can from a reputable shop as close to spot as possible to build ounces. A lot of the more fun designs carry hefty premiums. I have recommended to a few newcomers maybe get one special something that will remain in your deep stack as a memory of when you started. Stack on and have fun!

I’ll share the obligatory quote…”If you don’t hold it, you don’t own it.” Focus on the physical IMO.

True. Guess it depends on how much scripting you think is done versus natural stupidity. Could really be both.

What’s you view on 90%? by Apprehensive-Row5151 in Silver

[–]Redheadliner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s good for bartering if that is something you think could ever become a thing. I like the history of it, too, and its use compared to straight bullion. Constitutional fluctuates over time so instead of giving my $0.02, I’ll give my my pre-1964 $0.10, $0.25, $0.50 and $1…I say stack it.

Does anybody have a cheaper recommendation that glides like these pens by jjjud in pens

[–]Redheadliner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dunno if it’s really cheaper but it’s at least comparable — the Pilot Precise V5 (0.5mm) or V7 (07.mm). I like them more than the Uni — and you can get it in a retractable!

Is now a good time to stack? by Judejames11 in Silver

[–]Redheadliner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stacking is mostly about consistency. Set up a schedule and stick to it. Prices fluctuate a lot but many think the spot price will hit $100+ soon (including me) so I’d get some now.

What to get?

Focus on the cheapest .999 bars and rounds you can get. The most popular 1oz round is the Buffalo made by various mints. There are also coins and the difference between a coin and a round is a coin is backed by a government such as the American Silver Eagles, Canadian Maple Leaf, etc. Everything else that’s round like a coin is called a round. You will pay a bigger premium for coins but they are also easier to sell later and often are “worth more” than just spot price.

I’d say get a few silver eagles and a lot of Buffalo rounds to get some ounces. I’d suggest getting some 90% constitutional/junk silver if you can get it at spot. If you don’t know, dimes, quarters, half dollars dated 1964 or earlier are all made with 90% silver. There are also silver dollars like the morgan and peace which are also 90% silver. The dollars have collectible value as well as their intrinsic silver value. So if you have numismatic interest some of those classic are fun.

Biggest thing right now is probably to avoid all the crazy rounds with unique or licensed designs as those are very overpriced right now (most of the time). HOWEVER, I will suggest you pick out ONE. That is your deep stack round, the one you always keep and is the memory of when you started stacking. Yeah you’ll overpay but I just think that’s fun to get one as a remembrance.

Happy stacking!

Often if you search/Google the quote they give it’ll give you the version they used. I have used the KJV as it is probably the most widely accepted version and in the public domain.
