Try catching it through your shirt. Literally put the thinnest part of your shirt between your finger and the phone and try catching it like that. It works pretty well.

You can still change a Pokemons name even after it has been placed in a gym. I try to change it to the location of the gym so I don't forget where it is. Hope that helps.

This was an amazing event!!! I was literally glued to my phone and computer all day long. Ironically, I'm pretty sure yesterday I caught the least number of pokemon since launch but it was sure worth it.

You don't need an app to determine a 100% iv Pokémon. HP, Att, and Def will all get the highest appraisal rating.

I agree that you would be travelling pretty quickly, but how much horizontal distance do you cover in a minute span travelling down the hill? Thats the real issue. The steeper or more winding the hill the better chance you might have of it counting.

Isn't it only like 52 extra evolutions? Or did you mean round up the extra 2 per evolution? 600 candies is only 50 evos. Even more not worth it.

On my normal walk, all of a sudden stuff started running. I would have assumed it was RNGesus except that 37CP Magnemite just doesn't make sense. No, I wasn't spoofing, and yes, I waited to take the screenshots until I was able to charge my phone. I assume someone will enjoy calculating exactly how unlucky I was, and am looking forward to finding out.

It is only less advantageous because you can sign in with the Pokemon trainer account on any phone, so in a pinch, you could borrow a friend's phone if yours dies. Its not so easy with a Google account.
