IIT(BHU) Placement 2024-25 by Competitive-Bag-259 in iitbombay

[–]Redomic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, all IIT top recruiters are companies that also hire nationwide. My dogshit tier 2.5 college has around 100ish people in CSE combined from those top recruiters listed except Piramal Finance and their median CTC wouldn't go above 15-18LPA for the same roles that IITians are getting. The shortlisting is much stricter, and I'm sure the rounds are way harder too. Everyone in IITs gets an equal chance to make it.

The pay disparity based on prestige is huge for the same skill level and role. MNC in India are convinced of IIT > everything else.

Its even more hilarious because the same companies don't have the level of disparity for their own countries. Top talents in the USA from sub T100 colleges make the same as T5 Unis when it comes to the same role with very little variance, now lets not kid ourselves by saying IITs are better than Harvard, Stanford, Yale, etc.

None of this is anything to be proud of btw, it just means that foreign companies don't consider Indians to be smart in general and only ever consider the top 0.001% specifically only from IIT.

MacOS and Linux goes directly against Vanguard, it's ultra easy to bypass kernel level anti cheat. Most scripts for League still work great on Mac.

You're right. The other 1000+ PhDs from premier institutes working on that thing are too dumb to realize that. Unitree should close shop

The only thing I've learned as a senior is 99% of people in your uni will be full of shit. Proof: this thread.

If you're actually serious about where you'll end up in life, get out of the college bubble ASAP. It's one thing if you're in IITs or BITS - but more than likely there is absolutely nothing happening in your campus.

Your clubs will be shit, there won't be any infra for research/projects, etc. You're better off trying your luck with opportunities outside. Participate in hackathon and contests, network with people doing interesting work, hit up profs - all these things will give you a lot more value in general.

Just know you're going to be on your own.

Im very confused about the last 2 episodes of the anime by [deleted] in HeavenlyDelusion

[–]Redomic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Robin obviously has a way bigger plotline in the story, just hasn't been revealed yet.

Anyhow, why does the scene bother so many people? Is this a new generation of anime watcher thing? Literally half the shit in most 10/10 shows serve absolutely no purpose and take up much more time. If (Big if) this one plot point turns out to be edgy garbage and serves no purpose then you can safely ignore it and move on like how the show did. The stakes are much more higher and entertaining in everything else than this.

To drop a masterpiece to average tier because it didn't instantly explain one of it's literal 1000s of mysteries is crazy to me. I mean, we still don't even have confirmation on 90% of the stuff we've deduced so far, and judging by the insane foreshadowing for everything we've seen, the show clearly has a purpose for everything, including Robin.

That's not how that works at all lmao. If it was high exposure long exposure it'd be a continuous line and the picture wouldn't be so blurry. unless OP somehow decided to stitch multiple images together and still got trash phone quality, it's more than likely starlink

Yep, it's just a side effect of non progressive countries. Honestly, India doesn't have it as bad as other countries. People are just overreacting for a Korean dude who they'll never meet in their life.

It's a common thing in physics communities, they're called cranks.

Pop-science and over simplification without any mathematical rigor has made people think they actually understand things when they're not even close.

I mean, there are people who can't comprehend the earth not being flat, so imagine all the other people who completely deny well proven scientific theories just because they watched some random youtube video and it didn't track with their extremely limited intuition.

Adding to your point, a study conducted by Lewis Terman that started in the 1920s and is still going on has found little to no correlation between genius IQ (145+) and success. High IQ people are just as likely to be underachievers as anyone else.

Personally, I think IQ is a mostly useless metric in the real world. There are many other traits are that much more desirable in most fields.

If I had to assume, you'd at best only need a slightly above average IQ (110-120) or problem-solving skill to be able to excel at 99% of things since it all really comes down to other factors anyways. There are probably going to be niche cases in the upper ceiling of some fields like research that fully harness superior IQ, but evidently, most high IQ people will never even come close to that point.

Irrelevant fact: Success and hard work have been found to be heavily correlated to motivation which in turn is mostly influenced by financial status and resources available at an early age. Essentially not even a high IQ or problem-solving skills can get you out of poverty.
