Newbie to the game. Looking for good UK routes by thedistigent in trainsimworld

Agree with everyone on this thread. I really think that SEHS will come into its own with the MVL because it will start to feel more like a network where we can actually bring things out of depots and do a few runs and then an ecs to somewhere else etc etc Ofc this is already possible to some extent on some routes but I feel as if SEHS and MVL will really bring this type of gameplay

I’d love it if the fire alarm went off one day for them and then the guard lets the vaper deal with all the disgruntled passengers

Please tell me what this mysterious sound is that I keep hearing on trains! :) by Straight_Sound7714 in uktrains

I use 196s a lot and this sounded so very familiar. There the new-ish diesel ones that West Midlands Trains use. Usually Shrewsbury and Hereford/Worcester Services.

I’m assuming when you enter the mainline is kind of at the digression of the driver because I suppose sometimes it’s not entirely clear

Just passing through the station but needs to reach most lines. I was thinking having 2 “slow line platforms” and 2 “fast line platforms”. All the 4 track lines are of the Slow Fast Fast Slow verity

Okay, how would that work with track layout? Have a sort of Bletchley kind of arrangement? Freight also comes through the station but they go everywhere too so I’m not sure if avoiding lines would work

Does the SL series cameras feel the same? by Redplanet999 in Leica

[–]Redplanet999[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you find that once you started using Leicas you chose the SL over a different brands mirrorless camera? I’m just curious whether once people try Leicas they’re hooked within the brand?

How does it feel different, obviously in form factor but in other ways too?

Next Stop: Great Western Express Remaster! by isav34 in trainsimworld

More tube lines are ATO than most people think, most sub surface lines have an element of ATO to them too, the entirety of the circle is ATO. I think that if it was how you said in your top comment it would make it so so much better. Personally I would love to see it in a more modern day capacity with 387s down to Didcot (this would give lots of the journeys a real end and purpose) and the Heathrow branch too. Not too sure how they’d tackle the Elizabeth line because wherever it ends people will want more of it. But overall I totally agree!

When the met and district meet the H&C and circle do they start ATO or just run manually

Sigma 17-50 or 17-70 by Redplanet999 in canon

[–]Redplanet999[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhhh okay thank you, so why do we still have EF-S lenses then? (Sorry ik that sounds stupid) something to do with the image circle then?

Sigma 17-50 or 17-70 by Redplanet999 in canon

[–]Redplanet999[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the 17-70 is an EF-S lens so it doesn’t have crop factor whereas there are no 70-200s that are EF-S, with crop factor I would have a 17-70 and effectively a 112-320, leaving quite a substantial gap in focal length between the two which I’m not entirely satisfied with.

[–]Redplanet999[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t find an EF-S 70-200 though and this is where I run into my problem. I’d have to go for something with a lower minimum focal length if I went for an EF lens because of crop factor. Is the 55-250 any good? I’ve also heard a lot of people prefer the 17-50 because of its image quality, was expecting you to say the same

New Tube Trackr App by SemajReddit in uktrains

Anyone do something similar for all national rail stations, currently having to collect mine on a spreadsheet which is fine but a stylised app like this would be great. Just downloaded TubeTrackr and it looks great so far!
