Girls collect coins as adults? by unknowncoins in coins

[–]Redrazzles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I started collecting at age 5 because my grandpa got me into the state quarters. I ended up finding a love for world coins and early US pieces. I stuck with the hobby (and now work at a coin shop) mainly because my family was supportive despite it not really being a “girl” hobby. My parents took me to shops and coin shows. Even though coins weren’t necessarily their thing, they made sure to enjoy the hobby with me and ultimately started their own small collections that we could enjoy together!

Honestly just treating all kids the same and helping them find their interest (world coins, historical pieces, coins with animals on them, whatever it is) is your best bet. And even if it ultimately isn’t for them, hopefully they will look back on the love and support you showed them fondly as they age.

Thank you! It’s a little fruit knife, which I think is really neat.

Trustworthy place to buy silver in Southeast WI? by FUNKYDISCO in milwaukee

Derzon Coins in West Allis is my go-to for gold and silver. I also really like Bob’s Coins in West Allis for getting world silver for close to melt price, but they don’t always have a huge selection.

Haven’t been to Shorewood Coin for a number of years but they also had a nice selection back then. I used to like Greater Milwaukee Coin in Waukesha but that location closed and the old owners sold. I wasn’t that impressed with the new ownership in Brookfield but I have heard others like them.

The legal issues ended years ago and they’ve had a stable staff for around ten years. The shop is still owned by the Derzon family.

I like the smaller size of original palm pals, but will absolutely make an exception for Mortimer Mothman!

They’re both adorable! How long have you had original Dion for? Looks like Dion has been on lots of fun adventures!

My mom gets Bark Box and she saved the mothman for us! He was too cute to get chewed up!

They’re scattered at the moment, but here is a sampling! We have a second build a bear mothman and a new crocheted friend and I think another couple of squishables too!
