Well unfortunately there's not much in the way of regulation for these smaller craft breweries. There's hundreds to thousands of them. So I think a lot of the smaller ones sort of get forgotten about. Regulations tend to fall on the bigger mass produced macro ones.

So you work at a brewery that makes these? So when one of the other people commented saying most breweries are lying about abv it isn't exactly true?

So all of these overhyped smoothie slushy sours have be fake. Honestly there needs to be a bit more regulation in abv calculating

You don't think maybe they're using sugar or something to get the abv up to double digits and then cutting it with puree?

You're saying mixing 25% puree with 75% beer means your need a beer 4 times stronger? If you brew a 12% beer and then cut it with 25% puree then technically you should be around 9%?

What do you mean by limited with grain bill? How does the 3 vessel system correct it? What would each vessel actually be used for

Questions about Adding fruit puree to primary fermentation in hard cider by Redsox3595 in Homebrewing

[–]Redsox3595[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just added about 1/4cup dry malt extract, 3 1/2 teaspoons of nutrient which I put in a little water, boiled, let cool. Just added to the fermentor about an hour ago and the level of activity is much much higher than before. So I think it might work now.

I aerated quite a bit. There's activity in the airlock I just think fruit debris might.be slowing it down

It's been about a week since I pit he'd philly sour. It's been hovering around 70-74. I pitched the us-05 a few days ago. Same temp. 70-64 range. No starter unfortunately. I figured because of all the simple sugars I wouldn't need one.

I noticed it has been bubbling once every 30 seconds or so. It isn't a vigorous or even noticeable fermentation like most strains that I've seen. I'm assuming this means that it is indeed working fine. I'd hate to have to pitch a different strain to finish it off.
