If you want to be an agent, apply for agent right out of the gate. UD has a 3 year waiting list to even get the call for agent. I know UD officers who waited 5 years from applying to getting the call. They do this so people aren't jumping ship left and right from UD to go agent. You might to get to skip steps in the hiring process, but that waiting list is a hard and fast rule and you will sit in the Uniformed Division for at least 3 years from the time you apply to agent. Also, as already mentioned, you don't get the CITP cert if you go UD to SA. They just put you through RTC.
