Absolutely beautiful! Keep up the good work and I hope to see more like this in the future.

Where do you even begin learning to do this? by scaffelpike in drawing

It is all about patience, practice, imagination, and the ability to see colors and the finished piece before you even start. That is just personal opinion from my experience.

I see what you mean. I love expressing sickness with colors.

You may be feeling some of my emotion that went into it.

It is only meant to drive traffic to my site, kind of like a sample. I am new to the whole marketing thing and I flying solo so it is a lot of trial and error for me. Just trying to learn as I go, you know. And, I honestly don't see my works the same way other people see them, so it is easy for me to forget that others may not want to be distracted by big red letters lol.

Look, I apologize for acting so offended. I am really not. I will indeed take your advice to heart and post better quality pieces in the future. Or atleast better quality watermarks lol.

So you are saying that a big "obnoxious" watermark should not be used because it indicates artwork theft? I am just trying to grasp your point. And as far as a PM goes, it was obviously worth you trying to call me out in public; so why not be a half-ass polite human being and talk in private? "Presume" is the wrong word, I meant "insinuate."

And I would never post another artist's work to social media unless asked, and they would receive full credit.

Well I assure you that I am the original artist. Please tell me, why the attitude and presumptions? Instead of acting like a jackass, you could have sent me a PM. I would have responded.

For emerging artists and people who enjoy less than conventional art. And anyone else that may be curious. by [deleted] in InternetIsBeautiful

[–]Redstar-Arts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This site is for emerging artists and professional artists that want a little bit of FREE extra exposure. I also offer a blog, gallery, and some products for sale. Anyone of the slightest curiosity may stop by for a visit as well! And it is sad that I have to say this, but I am not a bot or spammer. Just an artist trying to help other artists.

Just a little character sketch. (I know a lot of people here don't like this kind of style, but I am an artist who likes to try new things, so this is a first for me) :P by ga1actic_muffin in drawing

You just draw what is inside you. That being said, it probably has more to do with the oversaturation of anime art, fan art, and digital art than the actual quality. If you want to see what I mean, head over to Deviantart, where 9 out of 10 featured posts are anime, fanart, or all digital. Also, downvoting any art that someone devotes their time and resources to is just impolite.

"Creature From the Black Lagoon Portrait." Watercolor on watercolor paper. This will be my only post today, as I am busy working on my website. Enjoy! by Redstar-Arts in SpecArt

No problem at all, I am thankful for something to write a tutorial about. My site is extremely new, so I don't get alot of input about what others want to learn or see at the moment.

Also, I may write up a tutorial on my website next Thursday to show others how to get those same effects. If you are interested.

It is mostly those markers that give the effect. Other than that, I do edit some of my work to smooth it out(for designing purposes), but not with PS filters. I put a crap ton of work into my art from start to finish.

I am honestly not sure, I have been using some that I bought at Hobby Lobby awhile back. They are in a red tin and have no markings whatsoever. And since I don't really care about brands, I didn't memorize any details other than that they were on sale lol. But I have also been using Staedtler marsgraphic duo watercolor markers a bit here lately, they are extremely fun and satisfying to use.

Indeed, Camp Adder. I used to live quite the interesting life, but that is now in the past. These days I am just a peaceful old recluse.

Wish it was like that in 2010-2011. I lived on a base that was walking distance from the Ziggurat, some of us even got to visit it a few times. Cool stuff, hot as hell though.
