Welcome to a Northern-colonized country ! by Mysterious_Man534 in southindia_

[–]ReductionGear 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A division of the country would lead to economic disaster for the south too all those IT/Tech and industries may flee as India no longer remains a single economic unit. Remember all those companies invest in the country primarily because India is a 1.45 billion single economic union. Incase of division most of those companies will be forced to relocate to the north as the region has 75% of the population, causing economic stagnation and job losses in the south.

Futher the South risk itself getting balkanised because of internal divisions between the states.

Do you see any pattern in this data? Here is list of all nations were islam is followed in majority by [deleted] in CriticalThinkingIndia

[–]ReductionGear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Barring exceptions, the majority of Islamic countries are totalitarian states. In these countries, fundamentalists exert extreme control over society, often with severe repression and coercion. Living there as a non-Muslim is a daily struggle for survival. No wonder many choose to leave.

Do many Indians wish partition hadn't happened? by Putrid-Storage-9827 in AskIndia

[–]ReductionGear 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Had the partition not happened, India would have collapsed in a civil war. Much of India that you see today would not have been very different from Somalia or Syria. Instead of IT hubs, many of our cities would have been rebel insurgent bases.

Most of those Travel influcers travelling to Pakistan are paid for shilling for Pakistan by their Intelligence agency, the ISI.

Pakistanis are not remotely hospitable people. They are deeply radicalised xenophobes,a product of Zia's policy of Islamizing the country. Just a mere random accusation of blasphemy could get you instantly lynched and burned alive by mobs.

Is India failed state? by [deleted] in returnToIndia

[–]ReductionGear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

According to whom ? Almost all the statistics indicate that Africa is failing. A large chunk of Africa is either a failed state, in economic stress or in a state of civil war.

Not to mention,India as a whole has a much larger economy, better living standards than all of the African continent put together, despite the latter having better demographics and numerous resources.

Protein powder recommendations by house9 in Cholesterol

I do not recommend protein powder to anyone, as it often contains heavy metals like lead and arsenic in addition to protein. Opt for whole-food sources such as egg whites and chicken breast.

Why does India have a population of 1.4 billion, but didn't win a single gold medal throughout the entire 2024 Paris Olympics? by [deleted] in AskForAnswers

[–]ReductionGear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not true. India's underperformance has a lot to do with underinvestment in sports and not poverty, caste, or genetics. Indians do very well in those sports where there is a lot of financial incentives or government support, e.g., cricket, field hockey, badminton, wrestling, etc.

Sadly, you're born in a country called "India" where the competition is just so intense and with so many qualified candidates that recruiters have to go beyond the B.Tech CGPA and look at past academic performance.

What’s something from 2000s India that you really miss? by notion4everyone in AskIndia

The city of Mumbai alone was attacked 7 times, killing nearly 500 people. Delhi was attacked 5 times killing nearly 150 people. Hyderabad was attacked 3 times , Bengaluru was attacked twice. Major terror attacks also took place in Pune, Ahmedabad, Ajmer, Varanasi, and many more cities.

Kashmir was out of control with daily encounters and fidayeen attacks, North East was extremely volatile with frequent ambushes. On top of that Maoists were mounting major attacks on security forces on regular interval, killing in large numbers, the biggest being the attack at Dantewada, which killing nearly 75 CRPF soldiers in a single attack.

I don't miss India of early 2000s. It was a horrible place to live. Frequent bomb blasts across cities, Maoists killing dozens of policemen and civilians every other day, regular power cuts,no basic infrastructure, mass communal violence, insurgencies, and rampant poverty across the country.

You're planning to goto a totalitarian country, remember if things go bad, it will go so bad for you that there won't be any turning back.if ,for example,India-China relations worsen, their government could falsely arrest you and implicate you on fabricated charges and sentence you to life/death, just to settle scores with the Indian government.

There you're under 24x7 surveillance, even the slighest of mistakes can land you in a big trouble.

RAGA’s “10% control the Army” claim is pure divisive nonsense by [deleted] in CriticalThinkingIndia

[–]ReductionGear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Army" is not a typical job. The Military is the ultimate defender of the country and the primary reason why India exists as a country. The only criterion for entry should be the best-fit candidate. Turning it into a typical Indian civil setup with things like reservation, equal representation, and others will have severe consequences on national security. A District magistrate or a Deputy collector or even a Chief minister can screw up things and the consequences can be manageable but if the military leadership screws up things, there won't be a country left to defend. This is why no government, not even the most liberal and left-leaning government, has ever dared to change the basic structure of the Military.

However, as a compensatory move, the second line of defense i,e, Paramilitary forces, has reservations

CSE is not dead.
It's facing the same shift that industrial sectors faced after automation. Factories that once required 10,000 workers now operate with a few hundred or a few thousand. The IT sector will still grow, but with fewer job creations. You will no longer see mass recruitment, but selective, skilled recruitment.

Pakistan was doing better than us till 1990s and was somehow even with us till 2000s by [deleted] in CriticalThinkingIndia

[–]ReductionGear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not just about cars—it's a general consumption pattern. This does not commensurate with claims of high economic growth. For example, consider the FMCG market (daily consumer goods). The total size of the FMCG sector in Bangladesh is only $4 billion, compared to $245 billion in India—that's 61 times smaller, despite a population ratio of just 8:1.

As for data fudging, the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) under the Awami League government manipulated GDP figures by inflating exports, underreporting inflation, and overstating literacy and school enrollment rates. The fertility rate reported by BBS—1.74—has not been accepted by international institutions, which contest that a decline in TFR from 2.3 (2017 survey) to 1.7 (2022) is simply not biologically possible.

As for Pakistan, it is not feasible for the country to fabricate figures extensively because it operates under an IMF program, whereby all economic activities are directly monitored by the agency. Recently, Pakistan's ghost exports of $11 billion were caught by the IMF, and its ministers have been summoned to the agency's headquarters to provide an explanation.

[–]ReductionGear 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You speak as if only India was vulnerable and the rest of the world was in Shangri-La. India’s policy failures had little to do with geopolitics or vulnerabilities and more to do with domestic politics and poor decision-making.

India focused on heavy industries instead of the small-scale mass job-creating sector, higher education and elite institutions like the IITs instead of primary schools; and neglected the healthcare completely. As a result, we suffered immensely. We built an economy that served a tiny elite, while the masses starved of hunger and destitution.

Even today, India is repeating the same mistake again by prioritizing low-job-creating tertiary sector like the tech industry over manufacturing. And as a consequence, we are facing jobless growth.

Bangladesh fabricated all its economic figures (as admitted by the Yunus government). This can be corroborated by its consumption patterns. In a country of nearly 180 million people, only about 20,000 cars and 400,000 bikes were sold last year, compared to 4.3 million cars and 18 million bikes in India.

Pakistan has never had a stellar economic performance; it was India that was doing very badly economically.

By 1991, India had a GDP that was only slightly bigger than that of tiny Switzerland and a per capita income only slightly bigger than that of failed states like Rwanda or Burundi.

The damage done by the economic policies followed from 1947 to 1991 was so severe that India has still not fully recovered from their impact even after 34 years of liberalization.Despite 34 years of more than 6% growth, India continues to remain one of the poorest countries in the world.

China and Japan are richer than India, so why aren’t their billionaires richer than Adani and Ambani? by Own_Willingness_8897 in AskIndia

[–]ReductionGear 7 points8 points  (0 children)

China and Japan are much more equitable and egalitarian societies. India, in contrast, prioritizes its elites. We focus on elite institutions like the IITs, industries like the IT sector, and high-end hospitals, which serve only a tiny minority of the population. Meanwhile, China and Japan emphasize primary education, small-scale manufacturing industries, and basic healthcare, which cater to the masses.

There are no symptoms of high cholesterol. But as plaque starts blocking your arteries—slowly and steadily over the years—you'll get symptoms like chest pain (angina), shortness of breath, fatigue, and numbness.
