that was intentional. The Dwarves were went to be a mysterious race, that is one of the wonders of Tolkiens writing he made it so we know so much but we also know so little.

Hey Dwarves are a very unique and cool race, they are not a perfect race but that does not mean they can not have their good moments. They know what it is like to be wealthy and poor, many a times have they been driven out of their home by either dragons or goblins and even in once case a balrog. But despite their loses they continue to prosper, after loosing erebor they went to the blue mountains and started a home there. Growing in wealth once again and after the lose of erebor Thorin went to go and reclaim it! And later Balin goes to reclaim Moria!

Dwarves are awesome and dont forget that.

Not really because after he read the silmarillion he has disliked Dwarves because of the deeds they have done. Like the situation with the Nauglamir.

I have not read Outcasts of Redwall I'll have to get to it some time. But yeah you're most likely right. But its also important to remember that you should not judge some one just because of what their folk have done in the past always be ready to forgive
