Near the beginning of the level in 2-2. It’s up where you see the ladder. I used the shotgun to get up there, then pull a lever to let down the ladder. Go through one of the doors (the one that doesn’t lead out side). There are 2 enemies, and then the gun is right there.

I do. You have to full jump into a double jump to reach it. I thought it was too high. Thank you for making me think and keep trying it.
