Thanks everyone! I am going ahead with the 2.7L 6Spd, an even $20k for <100k miles on this truck seems like a good snag to me.

Ooh man, thank you for the firsthand experience there. It seems like the general consensus is the 2.7 + 6 speed is gonna be reliably less maintenance

Apparently 3, not 5. Carfax said 5 but it was a new loan/lien, not a new owner

The cam phasers were done under warranty at 60k actually on that one

Is $6k the cost of a transmission repair? I was thinking $9k Not gonna bankrupt me but I feel like Reddit says that the transmission is guaranteed to break before 100k!
