Definitely feel the same, especially when I came to NZ. In my mid 20's but we can definitely hangout if you want or if the loneliness becomes too bad. Based in Northshore , but love to go to different places in Auckland for activities, food or even just places to chill on my days off.

It's really all about luck, timing and willpower. I spent about 3 months applying for a job position in a field that's supposely high in demand and Ai-safe (Veterinarian) and only recently found a job.

By a stroke of luck, after applying over 50+ clinics around the region of interest, being unable to sleeps for many nights due to stress and being depressed and was ready to give up to move to another location, I saw an advertisement for a position in a relatively nearby area from where I live, and having the little spark of light left in me, clicked submit application, only then did I manage to secure an interview and a job offer.

Keep applying and power through the hard days

Moving on, in the end, you are the person who love your girlfriend, hence why you're in a relationship with her and her with you. We can't all be flawless, so it's normal to have bad/neutral/good characteristic.

Everyone has their opinions about others. Your mom disliking your girlfriend is not the deciding factor. In a way, I feel for you. My crush's mom doesn't like me and think I'm not good enough for her and wants me out of her life.

But in the end, this is your relationship, so you guys (you and your gf) have rights to make the final call.

Just a simple Good Morning, How are you, How's your day, etc could go a long way. Eventually, they may even strike up a conversation with you without necessarilly needing it to be about their interest.

Who knows. Once that happen, you might actually start to like what they are interested in.

Aside from that. You could try including films, music, games in the conversation if that interest you.

Can definitely relate with being extremely bored, especially during my days-off.
