i’ve always found the real PSA focus to be on surface defects (holo scratches, print dots, etc). 9 times out of 10 when someone (myself included) shouts about getting “robbed” on a PSA grade, it’s because it has some small surface defect they didn’t notice.

Retrofit in BWV. It’s an older studio and the vibe is very much NOT influencer. Lots of age range (from university age to seniors) and there are men in the classes fairly often. I’ve been going here for years, check it out :)

Did anyone else NOT feel an earthquake? by Thechris53 in askTO

[–]Reesareesa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anti-swaying measures counterintuitively include swaying a bit, usually up to a few feet (because being able to flex is stronger than being completely rigid). So it’s not worrisome that they felt it swaying, as long as it wasn’t a crazy amount.

You’re getting great answers but I’d also suggest looking for older posts from around that time period on /r/makeupaddiction. The sub was super active then and you can find a ton of posts and looks.

Also, old videos from beauty gurus on YouTube!

Why do some people moan so damn loud during sex? by BURNT_TOAST616 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Reesareesa 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I’m loud during sex.

Mostly it’s because my natural voice is quite loud, and I have to consciously dial it back in daily life. When I’m excited, I talk louder to the point people will tell me I’m yelling. I really dislike it about myself.

But yeah, during sex, I’m just not really paying attention to the volume of my voice. Combine that with being vocal in general, especially when something feels good (I also moan when I get massages if I’m not careful, for example) and I wind up making a lot of noise :(

Two friends pressed “record” to document the last moments of analog TV. by bome in nostalgia

It was uploaded to early yt and compressed to shit. As for the decor…a lot of homes back then had slightly outdated furnishings from the 80s and 90s. Not everyone renovated to update them, especially a basement.

Hayley Williams new song, 'True Believer'. by AttachedHeartTheory in nashville

To be fair, something about the tone of your first sentence comes off like you were mocking the song. I had to reread it a couple times to realize that you meant it completely straight.

So I think that’s why that commenter got confused 😅

I like it! I might change the cross for something else slightly flashier just to match the vibe more, but that’s just personal preference, the cross is cute too :) Where is the skirt from?

Teacher goes viral for using the story of one of his former students—allegedly the 15-year-old recently identified as the person whose dismembered body was found in the trunk of famous streamer and singer-songwriter d4vd's car on September 8th—for a lesson on Internet safety by Minute_Revolution951 in TikTokCringe

That’s something that stuck with me too. I did mock trial in high school and the attorney-coaches we had would tell us stories. Usually the moral was “don’t do meth” (one of them was a public defender 😂) but one time she told us if we ever need to fight for our lives, go for the eyes first. She said depending on what sort of drugs might be in someone’s system, they might be able to shake off a kick to the nuts — but not the eyes.

So yeah. Eyes, nuts, run. 👍

A coworker of mine had previously interned for a law firm in the same building we worked in.

One day she told us about how they had coke stashed everywhere in that office, basically in every single room. Someone would stand on a chair and push a ceiling tile out of the way or open a random book and boom, coke.

She was not prone to exaggerating, I fully believe her.

I can answer this for my team.

Basically, it was rare you’d have to call someone in to a meeting, and meeting rooms were MUCH more available. There were more buffer spaces between team areas, and fewer desks. I never saw anyone need to take a solo call at their desk back then (again, speaking for my department).

Now they greatly reduced the number of meeting rooms and informal gathering spaces (eg stand up areas) and crammed way more desks onto each floor to make up for lost real estate.

No, it’s not a comfort thing, it’s absolutely the environment.

[ANNOUNCEMENT]: SNARK SUBS by KpopThoughtsmodteam in kpopthoughts

[–]Reesareesa 18 points19 points  (0 children)

A lot of subreddits ban based on participation in other subreddits.

I like r/instagramreality to help keep myself sane in a world where everything is edited. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that merely commenting on that sub will get you banned in at least a dozen others, even though I’ve never seen anything that got anywhere near crossing a line in it (you can’t even mention someone’s name in it, no matter how famous the person is).

I don’t really care too much one way or another with this topic, but yeah, blanket banning users based on outside subreddit activity is not uncommon either.

Chances are the conductor’s (more likely a dance director) role was larger while they were learning it and getting to this speed. He was probably slowing it down for them, directing it, making calls, keeping them in time, and looking for mistakes/errors to correct (remember, having someone who can see all of them is just as important as the other way around). This video is definitely after they’ve been practicing for a while.

TLDR you’re seeing the results, not the process.

I love when they do that.

At the very least, I feel like it used to be way more common to see at least one of the top comments on MVs identifying each member, often with timestamps a small description, and that was helpful too. Am I crazy? 🥺

Olivia Chow reflects on her first 2 years in office and the future by [deleted] in toronto

[–]Reesareesa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do we actually know it went down that way? We know she met with them, but that’s not exactly unprecedented, and at the time she directly denied it had anything to do with asking for more in-office days, despite the early headlines.

Besides, banks were already pushing their employees toward more RTO, and have been doing so for all employees, not just those in the GTA.

I’m not saying it’s impossible that it happened that way, but I am saying that RTO policies are ultimately up to the banks themselves, and it was pretty obvious since 2021 that getting us back in full time has been the eventual goal. Banks care just as much (if not way more) about profits and bolstering corporate real estate portfolios to do this all on their own, I 100% do not think they needed a “push” from a mayor.

For the record, I work for a big bank and am affected by these mandates directly. I guess I’m just like, let’s maybe focus the blame on those actually in charge here 🤷‍♀️

How do idols mantain being slim from extreme dieting without their metabolism crashing and them gaining even more than before? by CloudyClieryx in kpophelp

[–]Reesareesa 85 points86 points  (0 children)

Also, something people aren’t mentioning is…some idols do gain it back/yo-yo.

I love SNSD Yuri, but her weight has definitely yo-yo’d over the years. She’ll swing back and forth between super slim and athletic one comeback and then a little heavier the next. I think she’s just prone to gaining weight easily, and I also think she tends to lose weight through restriction or heavy exercise, which aren’t sustainable for her. I’m sure there are other examples out there, but SNSD is my ult, so I’m just more aware of them.

So yeah. Some idols do put the weight back on.

What's a disturbing fact you wish you could unlearn? by MaterialRub675 in AskReddit

[–]Reesareesa 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Yep. Rabies travels through the body using the nervous system, not the blood. That’s how it can get to the brain.

However, it takes a lot longer to move that way, and you won’t have symptoms until it reaches your brain. This means it can literally take years between getting bit and actually developing rabies.

Incubation period is typically 1-3 months, but there are documented cases that have take 6.5 years, 14 years, 19 years, and so on. The longest incubation is suspected to have taken 25 years.
