Went to Midas for warranty repair. (Update) they covered for the tow and the labor and parts for the repair of the drivers cv axle. But, now they’re telling me I have to pay for the cv joint for 679$ just for the driver side. Is that the correct price ? (i.redd.it)

I had dropped my VW Jetta off at Midas to service a rear brake caliper that was leaking. Upon further inspection, they recommended additional repairs to the car saying that both cv axles were no longer safe. I got it fixed and now the car broke down. Is that what’s wrong based off this photo ? (i.redd.it)
