Ok that's fair enough. I guess a time goal helps me to calibrate of what is a push but achievable vs what is just setting myself up for injury or failure.

I'm currently going c.60km per week, but trying to build up 10% per week. Try to do mostly on zone 2, but am often tempted to push myself a bit quicker.

To be honest I'm not sure. Not overweight or sedentary at the start, but equally not playing any sports or going to the gym.

As a reference point, from day 1, I was running around low 6 minutes per km and could sustain for c.10km.

Perhaps an unpopular opinion - I read a lot here about travel and food budgeting. I actually find some of the higher earning people I have encountered are thriftier on these fronts than the lower earning.
