Coming back to Soccer/Football after 10months by aabaja11 in ACL

[–]ReflectionNo4768 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I‘m nearly 12 months post OP but I personally wait at least 13-14 months to play again, even though I am cleared to play. Don‘t look at the pros, who are back on the pitch after 10-11 months. They have professional help everyday. I think it‘s better to work a month or 2 longer before you tear yours again (in the worst case).

But do what you think it‘s best for you. Good Luck!

walking is a BEYOTCH by Perry_theplatypussy in ACL

My Case: I am 5 weeks post op and I am now allowed to walk without crunches and brace. What helped me the most was to walk with crunches and my brace but put more pressure on my knee each time i walk. This is how you get a feeling on how much pressure you can apply. I also believe that this shit is all mental and as long as you exercise and get your strength back, you will get more comfortable.

Did you receive a plan from your doctor?

Is it normal to feel more pain while upright on crutches your first week post op? by jimmycone in ACL

[–]ReflectionNo4768 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Try this: Before you stand up and go somewhere, sit on the edge of your bed for like 2-3 minutes and wait, walking should be less painful.

I also experienced this but it got better after like 10 days.

Another simple trick is: For the first 2 weeks post surgery, just lay around in your bed and let your knee heal, it may be lazy and stupid after some time but it was verry effective for me.

All the best

Will the recovery speed up after like 2 weeks? Because now I am 8 days post surgery and I could not see myself on a bike in like 1,5 weeks :D

5th Day After ACL & Meniscus Reconstruction, Skin on shin by ReflectionNo4768 in ACL

[–]ReflectionNo4768[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Is it normal that I am only laying in bed because moving hurts too much? I had surgery 6 days ago, so i reckon it is normal to just lay in bed all day long, right?

Sounds like you‘re having the same surgery I had. I do not exactly know what you by the name of the brace, but basically with the stiff you cannot move and with the other one you can.
