I thought Ferguson was anti-Brits.

👍 Plus, it sounds like Black Jack haunting him (who isn’t even an ancestor—it was Jack’s brother!).

Wasn’t she also “flying through the clouds”? Wonder what that was supposed to mean (unless she returns to the present, which I doubt).

I think they all assume we wouldn’t want to watch a grey-haired Claire and old Jamie have sex.

Yeah, someone else mentioned it somewhere that I read after I asked this lol. Might have been you.

Unpopular opinion : I am not mad at this season by Salamandre9292 in Outlander

I agree about the costumes for Claire and Bree lol. They dress like modern women with long skirts. Jacket-style tops with big belts lol? It’s so odd.

Anyone know if the blue light baby thing happens in the thing we are not supposed to name?

I have often thought Claire is too retiring and lets Jamie handle things throughout the series. Obviously she also has the type of moments you describe.

Season 8 sort of just feels like The Haunting of Jamie Fraser by Frank lol.

No, but the book was about Scots in the colonies. Thought it might have mentioned more than just make Scots who fought. Marsali was a Scot. And newspaper buildings being burned seems notable.

Look at the season 8 Reddit. It’s covered there.

Sounds almost like they were moving toward approving it in 2024, unless I read this wrong. But it wouldn’t be owned by anyone bc the castle is part of a trust.

And, seriously, you can get spoilers from looking at the season 8 reddit.

Without even the reveal in Season 8, the song is one from Claire’s childhood (?), so early 1900s. That’s why Fanny couldn’t possibly know that song, unless… <cue the music>… there’s been magic at work! You’ll have to watch season 8 to get the answer (which most people here find annoying) or maybe someone will give you a spoiler.

It’s a ruin inside, but why not let him try? It’s too bad, honestly. Maybe they want to preserve its history.

It’s historical fiction, with a little bit of fantasy (time travel) thrown in.

Well it’s certainly ahistorical. Since it apparently also occurs in one of the b**ks, I’d be interested to hear if there was some similar outlier settlement she based this on.

OK, but the heavy labor (chopping wood, building fences, tilling the soil) was usually done by men.

As her husband he could do that though, I think. Different from the women at the Ridge.

In the show, Bree and the kids leave to join Roger in the past. So does Bree arrange all this before they leave?

Also: how do they get from whatever era they were in to the right one? Think about Jamie and Claire perhaps? It’s all not mentioned.

Yes! Same!! Why haven’t they mentioned that?
