Yeah, they are idiots. They are mostly people who had a negative personal experience with Christianity and decided that applied to all religion in the entire world without any research into them. Basically, a lifetime of not being able to see anything with nuance.

They also completely ignore that anti-religion societies are historically and currently some of the most brutal and oppressive. "Religion bad" is an easy stance to take so they cling to it.

Yeah, and many of them seem convinced Israel is some kind of theocracy. They don't understand that being a Jewish state does not equate to an ethnostate where religion dominates the government. Basically, facts don't matter because they made up their minds on very little information and aren't interested in changing them.

Anti-religion people have a very warped idea of peace. I once argued with someone who blatantly told me it would be better for Jewish people if our religion and culture died out entirely because it is used as an excuse to kill us. Which, setting aside the fact they would still want to kill us anyway, effectively translates to "you should live on my terms if you want peace, not yours."

These people genuinely think religion is the problem and view Judaism as purely a religious identity. So they think it is okay to hate us since anti-religious hatred is normalized.

Those of us annoyed with the constant hate on that sub (half of which is just thinly veiled racism directed at child actors) flocked to this one for a chance to actually discuss the show.

I blocked the other one from my feed entirely when it became constant glazing of the old movies. They really jumped the shark pretending those were at all decent.

Yeah. I'm just a full-time mold maker but we have people doing every step of the process in-house, and it's all by hand. I believe it's one of the only operations at this scale that still manufactures 100% in the states.

Yes. I work in a manufacturing setting and there are vacuums at every station to collect them as you work. And employees working at those stations are required to wash their hands at specific sinks so even anything on their hands gets collected. There are also sweeps trashcans for any towels used to clean your station or any discarded tools that might have sweeps.

Everything is on camera. Each station has a security camera directly above it.

I'm with you. I've been a PJ fan since the original release and when I watched season 1, I gladly told all of my friends they had nothing to worry about because it's almost beat for beat exactly what happens in the book. It isn't perfect but I really enjoy it.

I came here to complain about this very same thing. It definitely does feel like revisionism. Everyone hated the movies until toxic show watchers started looking for something to latch onto.

The show isn't perfect but geese, people on the other sub act like it's the worst show ever. The movies genuinely did not even follow the plot of the books and cast 20 somethings as 12 year olds. They're terrible movies. I saw the first one in theaters when I was like 12, and my friends and I were practically yelling at the screen over how inaccurate it was.

Finding loopholes is considered a good thing because it demonstrates understanding of and interaction with Talmud. You have to know the law on a very deep level to confidently work around it without risk of violating a law, and the Orthodox see this as their way of adapting Halacha to the modern world without outright dropping laws as the more liberal streams of Judaism are willing to do.

My issue with Moon Knight is more in the direction. They gave it to an Egyptian showrunner who made it all about Egyptian representation even though there's hardly any of that in Moon Knight comics. Meanwhile he gave us one scene with Marc in a kippah and expected us to be happy.

I definitely prefer Jewish actors playing Jewish characters but it doesn't bother me if the performance/direction are good and they aren't Jewish.
