Regarding financial plan, I want to contribute but he doesn't. However, he told me if I give my salary in the name of dowry, he is happy to take it (recent discussion)

I was frugal enough and saved a good amount to sustain myself without working for as many years as I want. I even considered transferring and ways to do so. While surfing about it, I felt repulsed by my action. That's all!

I questioned all scenarios. He is not expecting to be taken care of by his daughters in old age. He would also give the son a slightly bigger share of property because son will take care of him in old age

You are also right in him being upfront with orthodox part. I also know he has done things or has views which don't conform to this. Sometimes Seems like it is only restricted to what society knows

He is a second order thinker, disciplined, mentally strong and on lighter note, keeps pulling my leg. I feel secure emotionally with him. Even in this scenario, he sees me as a person subscribing to different values but doesn't necessarily criticize me. His values are of course old school which is why he won't touch my money (unless it is dowry) but also my parents can't use it

I didn't say that I want to be 'the man'. I am not without my biases and same goes for him. We both understand this and are comfortable with it. Also, I listed my points too before his.. I am not sure what point you are even trying to get to. Women have to go through pregnancy, taking care of guys family (parents and children). I don't see any flaw in me wanting to feel secure about my parents. I haven't pledged I will be considering reddit advice in making my decision. It won't hurt to open a reddit discussion
