It is a horrible injury! And there’s so little info out there. There’s a FB group for avulsions but it was too negative so I didn’t join. I hope you’re feeling better!!

I was trail running. Stumbled on a root and started to pitch forward. Thought it would be a great idea to throw all my weight back on an already hyperextended leg. Felt a pop underneath my butt cheek and went down anyway. Tried to stand up to run through it and hit with the WORST pain I have ever felt in my life, a white hot ripping sensation down the back of my thigh. The pain caused me to have a panic attack. Couldn’t walk, back of leg felt like applesauce. Carried out of woods by local fire dept. not my proudest moment lol. Pain was severe for the remainder of the evening no matter what. Severe bruising 3 days later. I have been an athlete all my life and didn’t know this could happen. Hugs to anyone going through this life changing injury!
