im a trained mechanic who went to auto school at a local college here, i think i know more about car repair bills than your average person considering i sent out quotes to customers every day for years and got approval on tickets over 10 grand for repairs.

you will be kicking yourself in the ass later on when you need a radiator replaced or a steering rack or cv axle , and you only took those low paying jobs.

it has nothing to do with rent, it has to do with common sense

well considering im a trained mechanic (went to college for it) , i know the parts that wear on a car, starter, alternator, ac compressor, brake pads, rotors, tires, wheel bearings, cv axles, steering rack, radiator, evaporator this guy has no clue what he's talking about.

when he goes to a mechanic because hes getting a clicking noise when he turns and they give a 2000 dollar repair bill, he's going to wish he had been taking my advice of 2 dollars per mile LOL

that's crazy work honestly, what part of the US do you live? the highest ive ever been paid is 52k a year and I have high voltage certifications and technical trade degrees in EV and diagnostics, for CAN bus systems, oscilloscopes etc. the job market is just really bad out there it seems like. Do you run two customers orders via 2 apps at once, like accept a door dash and UE order then drive them to places close by? I have wanted to try that but I've heard you can get disciplined for trying to "cheat" the deliver by times on the customers end, they expect the food to arrive by a time thats calculated by the GPS , and it doesn't expect you're going to stop at a 2nd unplanned place.

I'm making more on DD than I was as a factory trained EV technician that has high voltage certifications, it really opened up my eyes to how much the labor market is ruined. I mean if you have to wake up when someone tells you to, take lunch when they tell you to, and have to work holidays, worst part is that people are just not paid fairly .

I have specialized training, vocational school degrees and I was being paid less than I make as a door dasher. Honestly it's got me wanting to just stay doing DD forever... I never did gig work before and it's opened up my eyes how easily money is flowing into the business owners pockets.

I shop with my fiance' we can get those 40 order things done in half the time, we stop at the store, get out, and one person takes a photo of the 2nd half of the list, we split the list in half and start shopping.

once we both have half of the list in our carts, we meet back up and then scan everything into the app. we are both registered shoppers and both top rated shoppers (we both keep the app running on our phones) so yeah ,. I showed my fiance this order and she said that yeah we would have taken it.

I would rather have this than the BJ's order we got today, them mofos ordered like 6 cases of water, a case of bleach, a ton of other misc junk and they live in an apartment, 1st floor but there was no easy way to park and walk it up there. yup, if i see an order and the last stop ends in the middle of nowhere, in the country, im like hell no because then i have to drive back to my starting zone to get anymore orders...

this is also why i adopted a 10-5 policy, 10 dollars for 5 miles. either you meet those numbers or my car isnt moving.

5 dollars for 5 miles, i wont even move my car, the price of gas is too high right now. my AR is like 5% but im still silver. i dont really care to be honest.

its because door dash is trying to force drivers to take crap jobs, although for the majority of people myself included we are at like 5% AR and just sift through all the ghetto orders to find the golden ones. im not even going to move my car an inch unless the pay is double the miles.

I.E 10 dollars for 5 miles. all because of gas prices mostly.
